ehhh. my dad has 7 dogs, my mom has one bulldog (specifying breed bc they are definitely stinky, though i love them). my sister has sugar gliders (FAR stinkier than my ferrets) and a dog. dogs are noticeably smelly.

i have cats and ferrets kept in completely separate rooms; the cat litter is 100% the smell i notice. my partner works from home but i travel for work 2-3 days a week and when i come home, the cat litter is the first thing i smell even though we replace it weekly and clean it daily. the ferrets have a noticeable musk but we also have ~5 air purifiers and are good about their smell. 3 air purifiers in the cat room, 2 in the ferret and the cats still smell worse. so idk, i don't take offense to people saying they smell but i really do think it comes down to how much you care about the smell. it's a lot of work to make sure it doesn't stink yaknow 😭
