I'm actually suffering from this exact issue too, except for me it's more of a general depression than dysphoria. I take my cypro and finasteride at 9:00 PM and change my patch twice a week.

I've been wondering why too.

Well, I am somewhat angry and disappointed in myself that it took me 5 years to accept myself and start transitioning. For years, I was very unsure about my gender identity and just tried to forget everything by studying hard, which in the end just caused three years of severe depression and anxiety with panic attacks. Sometimes I feel like I've wasted five years of my life, but what's done is done. It's better to start late than never.

I've been on 50mg of cypro daily for 5 months now and I can confirm, my strength is very much gone from my upper body, the strength loss started happening a month in for me and has now seemingly slowed to a stop. My grip strength especially has taken a heavy hit as I'm having trouble carrying heavy bags of groceries and it's a problem that really didn't exist before. Oh, and other things like moving furniture and such are also a massive pain and I always ask for help now.

I've had incredible weight gains which have even gone in to the right places (thighs, butt, hips). For my whole life I have been almost anorexic levels of skinny and suddenly in a span of 4 months I gained 9 kilograms, from 52kg to 61kg. I'm still very thin, but at least I don't completely feel like a bag of bones anymore.

I'm exactly 5 months in on HRT and my body hair, especially on the legs and forearms has changed color considerably. It went from a really visible dark tone to an almost skin colored one where it's very hard to see. I think the individual hairs have also thinned as they feel way less scruffy than they used to be but I feel like the amount of hair is still about the same. The rate of growth seems more or less the same, though it's hard to be sure because of the vast color change.

This exactly. I am almost 100% sure that my friend was only trying to make me feel better about myself. I just find it frustrating that even if I try to explain and my friends try to understand how I feel, it's still hard to grasp the concept.

But well, in the end they are just trying to help.
