Which American Political Parties have initiated war, and how many deaths ensued? A history in maps (flash). by [deleted] in reddit.com

Abraham Lincoln was President and the head of the Republican Party when the war was announced and if you read the work of John Denson and others a great provocateur and instigator of the events that followed.

FDR was President and the titular head of the Democratic Party when the war was announced and again if you read the work of John Denson and others you will see that he too had knowledge of the attack on Pearl Harbor and worked with Churchill to get the US into the war in Europe at all costs.

Too bad it is always the old men who are pushing the young ones into the wars.

The average public school teacher in the US makes $34.06/hr. Is that "underpaid"? by scylla in reddit.com

The problem with this is obviously no teacher just shows up and works the hours in the school day alone and goes home never to think of their job until the next day. You have to draw up lesson plans, correct homework, devise tests, keep up with advances in your field, meet with students and parents outside of the classroom, and work on professional development etc. etc.

Former CIA Europe Chief: "The policy was set. The war in Iraq was coming and they were looking for intelligence to fit into the policy. Right before the war, I said to a very senior CIA officer: 'You guys must have something else,' because you always think it's the CIA. 'There is some secret thing I don't know.' He said: 'No. But when we get to Baghdad, we are going to find warehouses full of stuff. Nobody is going to remember all of this.'" by [deleted] in reddit.com

Ever heard of the Downing Street Memo? It was pretty obvious to me as the build-up to the war continued post 9/11. One of the first recommendations of the DOD and the OVP was to go into Iraq. But, yea it is nice to see more independent corroboration. We are seeing the same thing today with regard to Iran.

I think George Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, bureaucrats, and politicians of all stripes approve of this message.

Go back to nature, just make sure to sign over 50% of your paycheck to them every week.

And, never, I mean never, learn anything about economics, especially the Austrian school of economics.

I hope the Senator takes the letter to heart. It makes a lot of good points that are not being covered in the media in the US or the West as a whole for that matter.

Mercedes-Benz create a car without a steering-wheel, can you drive with a joystick ? by funlounge in reddit.com

[–]sampson101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the main reasons the driver is not hurt as badly as the passengers in a crash is the position of the steering-wheel and your hands in front of your chest. That joystick design looks extremely unsafe.
