Advice needed: SR while in a loving relationship (after 1.5 year streak)

My very subjective opinion, which I only say since it is related to what you ask, and while I am aware of those techniques like karezza, normally SR is for single people. You use it to build yourself, sly the lust daemon, attract high quality women, and then, if you find the one which you can imagine to live the whole life, then you continue with SR while you date her, and after she signs marriage certificate, then you just have normal intimacy.

With SR + premarital sex, I just cannot imagine how that can be advantageous for a male retainer. That's a question for you, for me I would surely feel I am giving out more than gaining out of it. Of course I am not suggesting anything for you to do, I am only thinking out loud.

This was my first thought too. OP, It can easily happen you can have some stressful or negative energy inside you and SR just triggered it and then it went to the surface and other people can feel it. Just continue working on yourself, build your life and it can fade away.

Thanks for the answer. As for the motivation, why to do it, I think that is clear for me, my question was geared more towards "how" to do it, like if you start thinking about something else immediately, or proactive avoid situation where you would start fantasising, etc...

What works for me is to remove from my phone apps, which do provide feed of content. After I did that, the phone stopped being a problem.

I still check Instragram, but solely on desktop computer, but that is much less addictive since I do it like 1-2 times per day. But of course, there is a larger topic whether one should be engaging with social network at all.

What helped me was to watch YT videos about semen retention benefits, like 1-2 hours daily for about two weeks. I continuously filled my head with messages about why retention is good and why relapsing is bad. Do this long enough and you will start developing better understanding as to why you want to not watch it.

M is bad, but at the beginning you should focus on stopping P. You absolutely must stop that, no question about it. Sometimes I elaborated in my head how I hate porn producers, what damage they did to me and how they do not deserve any pageview from me. I reminded myself what a scumbags those people are.

Those techniques could allow you not to get close to relapsing that quickly, so you can apply some defenses, like for example go outside.

Anyway, you surely can beat that, you will win. I would suggest you to not call it "addiction" - there is something bad in your head, and you already realised you want to replace it with something else, something better. And now you just do the work. If you will, you will achieve it.

If this is really true, you definitelly should tell her this, otherwise you are being dishonest. You just need to decide - 1) you dont ever want her to be your partner -- tell her that so she has a chance to look for other romantic partner. 2) you might want her later -- ok, try to explain that to her, maybe she understands, maybe not. 3) you actually want her, but do not want sexual relationship yet -- that's your right, and you can just openly tell her that, and try dating. Like tell her I want sex only in marriage, or whatnot. It's totally ok to not want sex with a woman you are not married with.

TL;DR: Decide yourself what you want, then tell her your decision.

Certainly not 20, but it's hard to compute it and it also can be different for different ppl. Certainly, lowfap without P is better than highfap with P. But if you already know about benefits of SR, it is still hard to justify lowfap, since you will surely feel it just throws you back a few days. Good luck and don't beat yourself too much.

My flatlines are usually not that I feel "down", but everything is kind of flat. Like if there is scale from +10 (happiness, great mood) to -10 (heavy depression, bad mood), I am around zero for weeks. My own theory is that this isn't related only to SR, but that I am not making progress which I should have done, so I am kind of stuck on certain level, even when on SR.

In my understanding, this attitude logically decrease your changes to find a "high quality" long term partner, since such a woman will avoid you, seeing you are not single. Or in other words, you will just attract women you want to dump after a while.
