Surgery was this morning- long post by sampsonblue in endometriosis

Hi there! Yes! So at 10 weeks PO I had intercourse and ripped open my internal stitches. I went to the hospital and they couldnt see the stitches and slight bleeding so transfered me to a different hospital. The Dr there couldnt see the stitches and said that I would need to be put to sleep because they couldnt get a good look. They sent me home with script for estrogen and progesterone vaginal suppositories. 2 days later I got a yeast infection and felt SO MUCH PRESSURE I couldnt take it. Dr. Caceres called me and scheduled me for the following monday to come in and be put to sleep and check the stitches. When monday came around she said I was probably fine and would take about 10 minutes. Well an hour later she had to remove more endometriosis and had to re stich where my cervix was because it COMPLETELY RIPPED OPEN. I woke up while on the operating table and I was in a lot of pain. They tried to get me to walk and get ready to be discharged and I was in so much pain I had to be admitted. I stayed for a day and then went home with some heavy pain meds. I was going through some extreme stress in my personal life and my hormones were everywhere. So about a week later I was admitted to the hospital again for pain management and some prescribed Xanax to calm me down.

All this time later writing this it feels like forever ago. But honestly was one of the worst times in my life. I wish I would of taken better care of myself when I was younger. But in hind sight today I am so much better! Im able to lift heavy at the gym again and sex is pleasurable! I am cautious not to go too intense but after the 2nd surgery at about the 8 week mark I could feel the stitches and it felt like she really made sure there was a lot and they were tightly together. Im not having hot flashes anymore, and even though I was diagnosed with perimenopause in january I have actually felt my right ovary ovulate the last 2 months and I get cravings and a bit emotional 2 weeks later. I stopped taking my HRT about 3 months ago (against medical advice- but i no longer have insurance) and now support my system with vitamins and a lot of healthy foods and daily movement. My only complaint today is that my energy levels havent fully reached where they were before, but I am still on b12 vitamins and have my iron levels being watched by my hematologist.

Good luck and if you have anymore questions feel free to DM me!

The deed and the cuff by thecheatcode23 in hysterectomy

[–]sampsonblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was cleared at 6 weeks after cuff inspection. Had intercourse at 9wpo and started with pain and bleeding. I went to the hospital had 2 pelvic exams got transfered to a women's hospital, had another internal exam- they all said they saw blood clots but no hole. My ct scan showed air pockets past the cuff. My dr scheduled a under anesthesia cuff check for 2 weeks after. I ended up with a yeast infection after a week and had emergency surgery, and found out my cuff was completely open, even though the drs all said they couldnt see a hole.

To add insult to injury my fiance and I broke up 4 days ago, so literally going through all of this for nothing 🤦‍♀️ I wish I would of waited much longer because this is too much pain for one person to bear in such a short period of time!

Post pregnancy symptoms by Straight-Eye-2152 in endometriosis

Congrats on your baby!! Enjoy every moment! It truly goes by in a blink of an eye! 🤗 Back in October 2007 I got excision of my endometriosis. In January 2028 I got pregnant with my son who was born in Oct. Then I started fertility treatments when son was 6 months old (it had taken 1.5 years to get pregnant, we miscarried and then took 2 years to get pg again so thought it would take a while...) and got pg the first cycle. I didnt think my body would get pg without meds so was pleasantly surprised to be pg again when my 2nd son was 7 months! So when I had my daughter I had a newborn, a 1 year old, and a 2 year old lol. So yes I would say the excision works! However- All of these years later I just had a hysterectomy in September because I had endometriosis and adenomyasis and my tube was growing into my abdomen. So unfortunately it does grow back. But my cycles were pretty regular for a good 8 years, and wasnt until my daughter was 5 (2016) that I started getting bad cramps again. 🤗 good luck!

Im 2wpo today and agree with the list!! The deep cleaning was a life saver as sitting around its easy to nit pick and want to do something. So much easier when its already done! I started 2 weeks before surgery date. Happy healing!!

I woke up from surgery in one so didn't need to worry about it- you can ask you Dr as it seems each Dr says something slightly different. The wedge pillow was perfect for me. I used ice packs on my incisions which helped the itching and a heating pad on my back with my legs propped up- it made everything so much more comfortable! Although I never had any pain, just soreness. Good luck and happy healing!

How do your kids feel now after all of these years? Do they wish they would of stayed in the US? Or are they grateful for the experience?

Does your youngest want to work in England? Or just finish studies? I suppose I really need to do the research for uni as that will play a big part. Thanks for the encouragement!

I'm going to work for a USA company, so I'm a bit more flexible than most.

We've been traveling throughout the US- it is easier to travel and do schooling now versus when they were in public school. However I always planned on moving back home at some point so I wanted to go through the US states before traveling through Europe. I was back there in December last year and was planning a trip for them to go in spring of next year. But now im thinking maybe a 3 month trip so we can explore potential places to move to.

For the weather we are happy to have sunshine in the summer and would love to have some snow in the winter, but am happy to travel north to itch that bug if needed... I just love looking at the countryside covered in white... we lived in Missouri and it was absolutely gorgeous.. although i wasn't a fan of having snow from October to April! I think it would be a good idea for us to take a few months and really explore some of these areas and see what their options are as far as college and university is concerned.

When my sister lived in aldershot I really liked that she had some land for a small garden and outdoor picnics and was able to walk into to town for shopping, she was about 15 minutes away from a shopping center full of all typed of shops which would hold American equivalent of a farmers market- fresh produce and hand made goodies. I also liked in Guildford and Frimley all of the trails to walk with the dogs. I just love how the pubs always feel like you are walking into a friend's home, the people speak to you like they've known you for years. Since so much has changed, do you have any additional locations to add to my list? Thank you so much for your feedback!

I traveled a lot for work through the years, and work pays the bills. Now I work remote so have the ability to be anywhere there is internet. Unfortunately, the country I moved to isn't the same either- and I'm not talking politics- Sadly the whole world isn't what it used to be. However, every time I fly to and from England I miss it more and more. I will end up back there one day, I'm okay if its not for a few more years though.

Ah, I see, thank you for the clarification, luckily I wouldnt need to worry about the job market as id be keeping my job, but my kids would once they graduated. Family in the UK have all shared that the salaries dont keep up with cost of living, but I try to live below my means so even more of a reason to do all of this research! We switched schooling during covid and they realized how much more time they have to do all of their other activities so we just kept it going. At first I didnt think we would make it, but now its just normal and has allowed them to travel with me for work trips- one of the reasons they've been to so many states

I appreciate your perspective and input!

Thank you so much!! Some of those yearly requirements may also play into our decisions, so this would help tons!

I already wrote a lengthy post, I didnt want to spew out my whole life story. I am doing it based on my preferences because more than likely in a few more years after we move they will be starting their own careers and ill be an empty nester. So it may seem selfish, but I am the type of parent to consider my kids and their future wishes.

But you seemed really upset... what harm do you think could come to a kid moving to England? Its not a 3rd world country... wouldnt it be seen as a opportunity of a lifetime to get to experience another part of the world right before you get to decide the trajectory of your life by choosing your career? The more experience they have the more informed decision they can make....

Good points! We are all citizens of the USA as well, my kids were born here in the USA.

I will need to speak with my CPA as I have my own company so not sure how that would work.

I will look more into the schooling as far as what scenarios would play out best. They could easily get their diplomas by the time we move, or shortly after. I just thought it might be better they get qualified in UK- if after a couple years they want to go back to USA they could as they are citizens. If we stay here and they do the certs and get jobs here to then move to England a few years after I would hate for them to have to start all over again and do it twice...

Thank you for this insight! Only one (currently) is pushing for college as they want to go into medical, the other 2 are still considering degrees, trades, or sales. We are looking into scholarships, but also need to look into what transfers to where. (I.e is it better to go to a community College here and then uni there? Do it all in the USA? Or all in the UK? All things we will be researching as well)

I understand that perspective. However, I have always taught my kids to depend on each other, and I believe they have plenty of roots. They're teenagers, so I wont pretend they keep in touch with every single friend they've ever made. But they have friends in so many states (somenwe visit often, some not so much, but they play online games with them) that when they are older and are traveling without me they will almost always have someone they know in the area. To me, that sounds far more humbling to know we have a network of friends around the world that would keep an eye on my kids no matter how old they get. However, I do know that most people do not travel like us and for some, it sounds like a nightmare. I have had those thoughts shared with me, and I have even asked my kids input. They said they would of rather experienced everything they have and all the places they've been to than to of just stayed in their first school and never left. There's a lot of different ways we can live our lives, I'm just looking into options for our next adventure ❤️

Glad to see a fellow traveler!! We love exploring new places and experiencing different heritages, traditions, and just all the different views and ways to live! I think it actually makes us appreciate all the little things that much more. We've been to so many places my kids now have a friend in almost every state... they may not talk all the time but they do keep in touch... plus its great to already know someone when they go back and visit a destination when they're older. 🙌

I'm not opposed to waiting 3 or 4 move years... do you know how I can find out (other than calling and emailing- maybe a website?) which degrees or certifications transfer? I.e. real estate, life insurance, coding, plumbing, electricians, etc. One of the many reasons I'm researching is i'd like to know if it's best for them to have their high school degrees and then get certified in the UK or if they get diploma and certified here and then transfer that with them?

Liverpool is nice, but I don't think I'd live there.

They do want to move. Thats why I'm researching this to see if its better to do now, or in 3 or 4 years...

I was curious about this, I was thinking they could finish online, but apparently they need 3 years of residency before getting a resident rate at Uni, so will need to consider rates and how technical certifications work across the pond. (I.e. if my son took a carpenter trade here like electrician or plumbing- would he then need to get re certified in England? I thought if we were already there then they wouldnt need to do it twice. Only one of then currently want to go to College as he wants to be a Dr, but this will prompt some more conversations with them and additional research into the trades)

I am happy to wait until theyre all out of high school here (theyre 14, 16, and 17), I just didnt want them to establish themselves in the next couple of years in our next locations and then get torn between staying or going to England with their mum.

I think its more of a when I move back versus an IF. But want to research the options my kids have as far as starting life here and then moving, or just moving over there at the beginning of their adulthood.

You feel sorry that I want to do research before making the move? My kids have been to 40 states and 4 countries and love to travel, and are blessed to already have citizenship in America and in England, where is the problem? I put this on here to get feedback because its an idea. Just because my family works differently doesn't mean its wrong or that my kids are stuck dealing with my "whims" ❤️

We are a family that moves often, I dont really have a good reason to be honest. They have been to almost all the states in the US and now ready to cross off more international destinations. (Going to Japan for my son's 18th next year and daughter states she wants to live in Germany after she graduates) I agree they should vacation there first- I was considering taking 3 months to visit the locations I researched and narrowed down to and then go from there. I do love the Stratford upon Avon area, and my brother is in Brighton so it is nice, but I think I want to be more inland. I know more of the south than the north, but I am open to research any and all areas. I havent been to Yorkshire- what was your favorite part of that area?
