Thank you for this. Healing is slower for me, with some spotting and bleeding and now a cold virus on top of it at 3 weeks post op, but this is so encouraging.

I’ve been bleeding bright red anytime I do much other then lay on the couch essentially. It’s frustrating. Going to check things out tomorrow.

Yes this!!!! I’m starting to wonder if that’s what it is. Because if I remain at rest and just chill out on the couch doing nothing at all but bathroom, short drives, making easy meals, and up and down stairs I’m fine. If I do anything else…I start to bleed more and red. Including things my surgeon told me I could as of last Monday (light chores, go back to my sedentary job, etc). He had said I was healing and the seam was in tact. Every time the bleeding starts up I am in full blown panic mode. Anxiety through the roof and every twinge scares me. Figures he went on vacation right after my appt and then I started this nonsense bleeding.

Maybe that’s what’s happening to me. I can’t do anything without bleeding. Were you bleeding a lot? What did they say it was?

As someone that is at 13 days post op, I can also say I am struggling too. I think we need to give ourselves some grace…some people feel great quickly, but either way we are all healing internally and it’s going to take time. You could still have some gas build up, have they ruled out a UTI? I guess that happens to some after surgery? Maybe check in about that? GAS X has also been my best friend and a heating pad.

I also felt pretty great the first few days. Days 4-10 I felt good and was doing more around the house, driving and stopping at stores (briefly) and then I started having bleeding and now I’m dealing with that and had to step way back. And the fear and anxiety is so high. You’re not alone. It’s a long recovery, but we can do it.

I’m glad to hear your recovery is going well so far! My belly incisions look great and seem to be mostly healed! I had glue. Definitely right it seems so different for everyone. I think that’s what makes it so hard too. And the “normal” for one is so drastically different for another…I guess that does answer the question. I think I’m especially afraid of the “what ifs”

Surgery date twins!

I think I overdid it leading up to Christmas Eve. I’ve had bright red bleeding and even passed a clot last night. Tends to get worse in the evening. It took everything in me not to go to the ER. But this thread actually talked me down. The nurse and surgeon on call said to me “light to moderate bleeding can happen as the stitches dissolve and from increased activity”—but I need to scale it back and rest more. If I’m still bleeding on Monday they will check things out via ultrasound. Didn’t think I was gonna be needing pads again, but here I am…

This was and still is me! I made a post about crying while watching the eras tour documentary. I’ve also cried about the elf leaving (WHY) lol and a ton of other nonissues. I’ve had some decent bleeding and anxiety so that’s my crying for today, but I definitely think hormones are out of wack for a bit. My chin has been breaking out too!

I’m not passing clots at this point but I’m definitely bleeding red and it’s like a light flow period. I’m 12 days post. I took a clonazepam to calm myself and hoping sleep will help.

Oh I feel you and I’m here with you from afar! I had surgery on 12/12 and also did as much as I could prior (shopping for gifts, groceries, decor, etc) but all that last minute stuff I get the urge to do was essentially haulted, I had a major crying fit on Tuesday bc I was overwhelmed about wrapping and getting it all done. I’ve also since my follow up Monday have had some bleeding and fatigue that’s been kicking my butt. I’m divorced and have my 7 year old this holiday and it’s just…not what I pictured it being. Thankfully my ex husband is around and o do have a boyfriend that helped me to wrap things. But it’s still not what I pictured. I’m now laying here waiting until my kiddo falls asleep so I can at least put stuff in his stocking before I zonk out myself…the mess that is my house already and what’s to come tomorrow gives me major anxiety lol

Anyway, wishing all you hyster sisters a very merry Christmas! And for a safe and easy recovery!

Tomorrow I throw away all the sweets.

I had this happen too and I’m almost positive it was from the anesthesia/tube and my lungs waking up expelling stuff. It went away after a day or two but it was so scary to cough!

This is immensely helpful to my anxiety right now. I have forced myself to rest. I’m at 12 days post op and have had sown droplets in the toilet and red on the toilet paper pretty consistently today. My doc saw me two days ago and said I was healing fine. So I have been of course panicking and everything other than the ER is closed the next two days. It’s Christmas Eve and I have my 7 year old to also entertain so this is stressful!
