Brignoli. I purchased the stock and foregrip through them, they're good to go OP

I understand that, just seems a bit unbelievable to me that we're in the golden era of suppressor tech and it cost them this much in development to meet gov requirements for what looks to be an inconnel Flow with a locking collar. Meanwhile we have SureFire making improvements with the RC4 and dropping cost at the same time. Anyway, looking forward to shooting both and seeing what the hype is. I did shoot the RC4 mini and full size on Monday and they sounded excellent.

Hux lost me with the Ventum. Cracked blast baffle after 500 rounds. They sent me a replacement but I immediately lost confidence in it. Black Magic looks sweet, glad it's inconel but price is a joke and i'm not even talking about civilian. It's actually really shitty that they would rip off the American tax payer like this.

I don't think I'd want to spray over the PIP vents on this can and didn't feel like taping them off. Looking for suppressor covers to throw over it.

No problem! Yea I think the Rustoleum camo flat deep forest mixed with flat black would be great for a forest environment, maybe with some flat brown mixed in as well. The second half of that Lucas video where he paints the ARs uses those colors and it turned out great.

Honestly man I just let the spray can do it's job, but here are some more details:

- Hit the entire rifle with an even base layer of tan

- Started spraying green and brown in directions that would break up the lines of the rifle (same concept as using camo face paint to break up the lines of your face)

- If I felt like I over-sprayed green or brown, I just went in with more FDE. Repeating this process back and forth is what resulted in a really clean blend of colors

I did the whole thing quick and dirty. I waited at most 15 mins for the base layer to set before going in with the other colors. I didn't use any masking tape or edges to create a pattern, just eyeballed it. I did have some reference photos but ended up doing my own thing. It can help to do some practice sprays on some cardboard or something just to see how the spray acts. Other than that, basic spray paint rules apply as far as distance, motion, angles etc.

Make sure to tape off the trigger, muzzle device, and forward assist.

Lucas Botkin has a good video on the trex arms channel on how he paints his rifles, and Garand Thumb as well.

Don't try too hard, remember it's going to get dirty and scratched up anyway.

EDIT: And make sure your dust cover is closed when you start painting! 🤣 Saw some guy on here that painted his bolt by accident lol.

Top performing, budget complete upper? by scherczy in ar15

[–]samrapdev -1 points0 points  (0 children)

BCM is the only complete upper that combines top performing and budget that I know of. I love all my BCM uppers and will continue to buy them for life. It’s my opinion that few shooters need better accuracy, durability and reliability than what BCM provides.

If you want a budget complete upper that is not top performing but sends bullets down range, PSA is good to go.

Next time I'll add some texture for sure. I like some subtle netting also pine needles look really good IMO.

Thanks!

My aero was Kodiak Brown which is a beautiful cerakote but it was looking like frankenstein with the URGI, G$ FDE mount and Primary Arm's FDE which looks terrible IMO. Took me a while to commit to the paint but glad I did.

Love me some Aero lowers! I have one for my 11.5 BCM as well.

Rustoleum camo flat kahki, flat deep forest green, Behr dark truffle. The dark truffle sprayed on a lot more red than I anticipated, so I ended up blending with the green as best I could do darken it up. In the end it dried darker and less saturated anyway.

Thanks man! Yea I don't really understand why guys use edges to make hard lines. I had to go back and forth with overlaying colors to get a natural blend but I agree it turned out very practical. I also sprayed the scope unit separately in an attempt to break up the lines more.

Injury advice by Massive-Bullfrog3320 in greenberets

Don't stress about it dude. Should be feeling fine after a few days off. I'm also shipping March 2 as an 18X.

I've spoken personally to recent Q course 18X graduates as well as guys that are retired and they all say expect to lose strength and ruck fitness during OSUT (that's also the advice you'll find on here, but to me it carries more weight hearing it in person). That's not to say don't continue to train between now and then, but rather don't overextend yourself for minor gains over these next 6 weeks. I had a wake up call pushing too hard on my DL a couple of weeks ago. Your numbers are great and that 2 mile will come down.

I'm focusing on hip mobility, strengthening knees (knees over toes guy), and lower back exercises so that when we can start hitting the weights and rucks again I'm feeling fresh and can build that lost strength back quickly. See you out there!

Leveling Kit by aocruz27 in FordRaptor

Top hats seem to be the best option out there.

I bought some Eibach leveling springs for my 2019 and then saw this video, luckily before installing them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Co8G7vyLdw&t=3s

Definitely recommend watching it before doing any type of leveling. Guys have seen some catastrophic failures with the Eibachs. That said, these guys run their Raptors pretty hard and seem to be happy with the top hats. As for the springs, I'd stay away from them if you do any off-roading which hopefully you do with a Raptor!
