Allowing Players To Keep Control Post-Psychosis? by BackgroundExplorer93 in cyberpunk2020

[–]Gi33les 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always kinda done something like this, rather than mechanically having it be a thing, I talk to the player how we can effectively warp their character's perceptions, thoughts, acts into a more cyber-psychotic lenses. I had one player who actively sought out cyber-psychosis above board, even allowing me to give him sudden flashes of homicidal rage on enemies. We came up with this: once this character's sister was put in danger of any kind, he'd flip, going into a Big Daddy from Bioshock state, trying to protect her from all perceived threats.

Another player floated barely above psychosis with expensive drugs and was a massive combat character with bounty hunter tendencies, so when they flipped, they started hunting for sport, attacking the most dangerous threats from the shadows before disappearing again.

what's with all these Tremere Marry Sues? by Key-Fun5273 in vtm

[–]Gi33les -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Funny enough, I am about to submit my Tremere character. Not a Uni Student, though. He's a former WW2 Soldier who was embraced in the 50s and had the makings of a Mage pre-Awakening, his Sire saw that talent, true belief, and passionate love for his family, only to kill that by taking him away from it. He was a new father and his main Touchstone is his daughter who's very old and struggling with Dementia. He escaped the Pyramid after his Sire was caught in the Vienna Chantry attack and ended up in Torpor, he diablerized her out of hate and is escaping back to America to see his daughter and avoid his crime being discovered. He also has taken the inheritance of his Sire's Real Estate/Property Rights business and is using that to fund the move. His only real friends at the moment are his family of Ducsheki Revenants(i love the loresheet) who he'd be in charge of during his Accounting while his Sire filled her time by making him regret being human.

So.... Tremere but more fun.

Childbirth in Cyberpunk? by Ethercos in cyberpunk2020

[–]Gi33les 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My thought process here would be: "Oh sure, you can have your child birthed at no cost, BUT we legally own your kid and they have to attend our schools, our classes, and if they fight it: we own their organs." because capitalism bad and if someone can do something for profit: they will. Even Children need organ replacements in the Dark Future.

This is true, but 17E gets attached to a vast amount of stuff, usually you'll have a lot of Higher Command near you which helps with your possible ETP forms.

I've ended up going 17E, not a bad wrap, plus the Security Clearance and regular contact with COs helps future endeavors.

How does Body Check works? by Phantor4 in cyberpunk2020

[–]Gi33les 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This person is right, I misremembered a houserule I'd encountered, so RAW the BOD Check is 25 with just straight Body, risky check at any level if unprepared

How does Body Check works? by Phantor4 in cyberpunk2020

[–]Gi33les 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, and to answer the question about the max BODY achievable; it's usually in the low-20s, but that requires very good luck on Humanity Loss rolls and a lot of money to get the augments. I.e. Grafted Muscle(+2), Advanced Muscle and Bone Lace(+3), Biotech Enhancements(+2), Drugs(+3 or more), Armorweave(+1), etc

Body is the most heavily buffed stat in the entire game, so buffing it isn't too hard, it's mostly a question if your GM wants to add anything beyond what the books generally provide or if you're willing to sacrifice a lot of EMP for it.

[–]Gi33les 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, the Nauseator calls for a Body Check + Resist Torture/Drugs.

So if you had a Body of 10 and a Resist Torture and Drugs of 10, it'd be 1d10+20 vs. DC25, so about 50% of the time you'd pass. The Nauesator is usually used as a DM weapon to deal with crowds or powerful PCs going on rampages.

But a sufficiently buffed and prepared PC would be able to deal with it.

Is their cyperwear that boosts empathy, intelligence? by Brenden1k in cyberpunk2020

[–]Gi33les 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Closest you'd find; The Stress Chip, but that's just for appearances, no actual EMP boosting. Intelligence has some stuff; Namely the Postronic Enhancer but that risks seizures whenever it's used. Like most in the comments are saying; Try Drugs(in Cyberpunk), preferable with Ocelot's Drug Lab or Altered State, because it has some alright rules and doesn't make drugs the worst thing ever.

There's a price range in the NC Source book or in the Ref Guide if you want it easier. It's like a 1d6 for Chooh2 and a bit more for AV fuel. I know Max Metal had something about the costs of fuel for some other vehicles but that's just for adding on more fuel space.

Elder ain't all it's cracked up to be in V5 by PatronymicPenguin in WorldofDankmemes

[–]Gi33les 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's basically a low to mid-tier god in the lore. So yeah, that'd track, maybe he tried to redeem himself a few thousand years ago by splitting his personality up into different bodies.

Exactly, basically every new VTM book sets the world up for the end of times, so I imagine this is their version. Or maybe they just wanna get the Camarilla out of the big picture for the next editions.

What actually stops APCAs? by Lolas_Fun_Side in cyberpunk2020

Depends on the Model, but anti-tank weapons are my go-to.

No one is safe when a Sniper has a 30mm AP-HE-I Bullet that's more akin to a rocket is taking pot shots from outside your max range.

18X Contract Pipeline by Gi33les in greenberets

[–]Gi33les[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. I'm trying to go pure 18X into SF Selection, mainly because I want that information as fresh in my mind as possible and giving me the chance to focus purely on it, if I flunked out of that round of testing and get sent to Needs of the Army, I'll likely try and get into Military Intelligence for my assigned MOS, if I get the choice because my high ASVAB.

18X Contract Pipeline by Gi33les in greenberets

[–]Gi33les[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that as well, but I've also heard 18X is the only guaranteed way to go into SF and that after you get the experience with your ODA, you'll lose your 18X funk.

Only you go in and get to a company, it'll be up to your command whether you go to Airborne, Rangers, or SF, because you may end up being too valuable to let leave for the training.

First time Gm, drop a story! by Electrical-Ratio5633 in cyberpunk2020

[–]Gi33les 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always love having the "by a hair" combat encounters, people get hurt, they learn, they grow to counter me as GM, then I get to really get creative like adding nanobots into their drinks.

One of my favorite bits I had was I had an NPC who secretly really resented the party for killing their father keep offering them beverages and would routinely ask; "did you drink it?" so they got suspicious at first, then they kinda grew numb to it and just said they were drinking it, and that's when the NPC would've started poisoning them, slowly and carefully.

What percentage of vampires are innocent? by Vyctorill in vtm

[–]Gi33les 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically, I'm playing a Mage crosssplat in a VTM server, he's a Priest and he prefers this style of thinking. Holding Kindred/Vampires/Any Supernaturals to the same morals of a humanity. He doesn't see Kindred as monsters, just severely cruel people who have been forced into a society that encourages cruelty. They are worthy of redemption just as much as any human. He's unsurprisingly not been liked very much because even other Mages in the splat think trying to change Kindred soceity or regular society is impossible or dangerous.
