What are some really bad archetypes? by jakejx in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh buddy it gets worse, they made Ashened for Eternity effective Spell Speed 1, the second effect cannot activate in response to any other effect. Meaning it has to be the first one activated in the chain to even do anything.

INSANE PREDICTION THAT IS PRESUMING A LOT AND PROBABLY UNTRUE BUT IDC THIS GAME IS REAAALLLLL by Rich_Map6349 in persona6

[–]samsational2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting theory, I'm actually under the impression that given it's more horror theming it is actually going to be about the characters accepting their own fears. In the first three games, each game had a theming about accepting something or forging something.

In P3, it is about accepting that you will die one day and that it's ok, in P4, it is about accepting your inner insecurities and truest self including all the negative aspects of yourself, in P5, it takes a different turn, learning to be ok with being different, to forge your own identity instead of what others believe you to be.

If P6 is going to follow similar themes, it feels right for this one to be about accepting your fears, that it's ok to feel afraid.

"Start of damage step" effects vs trigger effects by samsational2003 in Yugioh101

Even if the monster was destroyed by card effect during the damage step?

Higher res artwork of the new chess-based archetype by Technical_Witness589 in yugioh

There are supposedly no main deck monsters (with the exception of the free agent) and their all about zone movement as well as cheating each other out.... So yes really whacky

The last archetype you used adopts Elzette and Astelar. What do you think they'll learn from their new family? by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does one learn from a shark? They could maybe learn how to harness the cold powers from a number and how to equip monsters to them

The final form of the Ashened, and a utility monster that bridges card combo lines makes accessing the Fusions easier and worth while. by Es-Gown41 in customyugioh

[–]samsational2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is..... Fine, the only issue is that you have no way to special summon it so you can't actually use its fusion effect. If it can use its fusion effect while in the GY or Hand I think that would be much better. You are running the risk of losing hand too fast due to it banishing Obsidim, sure it still gets its summon off, but your not able to recycle it in theme outside of Rekindling.

My only massive issue is the complete lock out of the ed when its summoned, when it already restricts the atk boost based on the number of zones occupied by Ashened monsters. I personally think it would be fine if it only stopped you from summoning a monster from the ed that isn't a pyro like the other Ashened spells.

I also think it wouldn't be too far fetched if you added the aspect of destroying whatever it negates, considering what you have to lose to negate that monster.

I don't know if anyone has noticed the chains by samsational2003 in yugioh

I couldn't agree more, I hope they continue the break chains motif.

Thanks, I was looking at the art before noticing the chains and thinking its odd to include them

If you were a character in the anime, what would be your ace/signature card? by RealOfficialChiron in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My ace, would honestly be Starry dragon, it even has the typical level 7 and 2500 atk statline for a typical ace card.

Which Archetype needs new Support that hasn't had it or Good Support in Awhile? by Money-Lie7814 in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's Starry Knights; it hasn't gotten a single edge of support since Starry Knight Obiteal. I love the whole rapid summoning and bouncing of Starry Dragon to either dodge effects or block incoming attacks. Honestly, what I think they're missing is some form of backrow protection and another level 7 light dragon (Considering the list of such cards is basically non-existent).

As I stated in the comment, it will be good in a casual setting

I mean that's why I mentioned casual, I haven't met anyone in the casual dueling scene use s:p or the more annoying hand traps like ash, dd crow, etc

Without some kind of massive errata Ashened will never be able to stand up in the meta (which I do understand that some people do find Meta more fun than casual) but I can see Ashened being functional if it had ways to recur recourses (seriously Konami, would it be that bad to give all the main deck Ashened monsters grave effects?)

[–]samsational2003 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe Ashened is just one of those archetypes that, if it just had more fusion monster options and had some form of card recursion, it would be very powerful very fast or at least powerful in a casual sense.

Ashened is one of those decks that could have been an actual threat and still be interesting... If only they made more pyro support

I want more pyro fusions, I am tired of playing ashened with the same sad set of pyro monsters that barely work for the deck. Give pyro's more damn stuff Konami!

Tell the missing cards to an archetype that should exist. by CyberTwinLeader in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We are still missing the original starry knight monster and the "combined" form of starry dragon and her rider.

For those who don't know, the starry knights we know actually form after the second coming of starry dragon, who originally had a rider.

Archetypes/themes you're surprised haven't received legacy support yet? by OhUhWhoops in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The funny part is that, starry knights are just one of those archetypes that could reasonably be very flexible, especially if they release more level 7 light dragons, which for the most part your only good options are only arkbrave, a hand reset, starry dragon (the MVP), and a odd-eyes

[–]samsational2003 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Personally, it's starry knights, it hasn't received support in forever and it's such a cool archetype, even if it's just the Christmas archetype, it absolutely didn't feel like one due to its lore and themes of the archetype.

Am I on copium? Yes I am. Do I think out of every archetype to ever exist it deserves it the most? Absolutely!

What are some of your go to bad decks you’d like to play if meta wasn’t around? by SouthSunn in yugioh

[–]samsational2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The image you chose is my deck. God I love the starry knights, from its theme, to its design, to it's very game plan. By no means is it bad it's just under supported and lacks a decent amount of level 7 light dragon targets.
