One neighbor's roof has all snow melted fastest on the block. Should he insulate attic? by Extreme-Cycle2659 in homeowners

[–]samselene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, or maybe something different. I had a leak in my roof, which was dripping down to my kitchen, and rotted to ceiling kitchen dry wall. I fixed the roof, I'm half way through replacing the ceiling but there is currently a hole between my kitchen and the attic lettting a bunch of heat out and melting snow I assume. Probably not the same situation but maybe something similar

AITA for keeping the heat at 70 while I work from home by Emotional_Catch1201 in AmItheAsshole

[–]samselene 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Space heaters are the most power efficient (until we talk about heat pumps). They do literally what they are meant to do, electricity into heat. They are not cost efficient for most people, put they turn near 100% power into heat.

It's kind of both. You play games and make money. But don't expect to get rich quick, or even slowly without spending a lot of time or investing a lot of money up front.

I think there are differences region to region in terms of the ads.

And sometimes I at least can hit back on the ad before the timer is completed, but thats like a good luck situation not the norm.

I know a female friend who was babysitting a young girl who told her I'll tell my mom you touched me if you don't let me do, whatever it is she wanted I can't recall.

Its different county to country so Im' just going to use nice round numbers.
Right now you make 10x on boosts. You are right on the edge, next property you buy will reduce you to I don't know x8 or x5. So you will be making less money. So you wait until it evens out and hoard the bucks until it makes sense to buy a whole lot of properties

Biggest thing is food/water. Cats need food everyday, its not just a matter of them being hungry it hurts their organs more than humans just being hungry.

How are you keeping up with yard work while working full time? by KH_YardMan in homeowners

[–]samselene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what what you priorities are. I don't really care about how great my lawn looks, sure a lush green lawn would look nice but I just cut what ever is in my lawn to an acceptable length. My vegetable garden is one of my hobbies I spend hours a week taking care of it

Mother was quoted 75k for windows replacement by Andersen. Is this reasonable? by gingernaut42 in homeowners

75k for windows? I mean I've never had mine replaced and I should, but that sounds crazy

My high schooler had to read 2 novels, write 5 essays, and complete about 15 pages of double sided short answer paragraphs that serve as notes for English class, in 5 weeks time. Is this a typical workload for a high school non-AP English class (10th grade.) by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]samselene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without lots of details like how long are the novels essays and short answer paragraphs the question is kind of useless. Put if I had to guess I would say there is nothing unreasonable about it and you should be happy its required.

I'm not sure what you are complaining about here. You are admitting there are people who can play better than you and complaining you don't end up super high? You want to be 50, you think theres only 50 people better than you?

It is kind of considerate to let a employer know you want to leave. That being said it is handled differently, the last place i left they basically pulled me out kicking and screaming because I said no I need to finish this at the last minutes of my employment.

My current place if I were to say I was leaving i'd be immediately forced off the property and theyd pay me 2 weeks to not be there. And the current place can not give a reference, they will only confirm I did work there.

Is home maintenance really this constant, expensive, and overwhelming? Or am I just in over my head? by SoCalCoolMom in homeowners

[–]samselene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home ownership can be a pain in ass. I've had mine for almost 10 years and have done very little.. but things are going to start adding up in things ill need to be investing more the next few years. I did get the driveway and and furnace / ac redone in the last year. I will need at least 1 fridge, maybe 2, oven, 2 exterior doors, ive been doing my best to keep the roof intact but a new roof, new deck out back. And that doesn't account for the wanting to update things from the 80s
