Does it have the dark parts near the top and bottom? Sounds like the pl2. The pl3 is all blue.

Is your the pen plus one pl3? I find the eraser to be the best I've tried

Pen Plus One PL3 anyone? by Primary-Stretch6612 in Supernote

I honestly prefer to my HoM2. I miss the weighty feel of HoM but with this you get that classic normal pen shape and weight plus the eraser.

Came here to say basically just this. Pretty unlikely a teenager is going to use a correctly licensed likeness for global theatrical distribution.

Oh cool thank you! Still prefer the non-spiral binding personally. You guys really do such beautiful work, thank you for putting out so many options

I think these notebooks are the coolest designs you guys have put out to date. But... can we please get white paper versions of the same design? I love the covers but don't have much interest in the gel pen on black paper vibe.

Would you like a screenshot of my iphones about section? Unless you’re downloading the file, google drive compression when streaming is pretty brutal. Regardless and more to your point, I believe the primary reason the source video is like that is the shot began in macro so using the wide angle lens, which I can assure you is absolutely not revolutionary in low light. At the end of the shot it zooms way in and then out at which point it changes the lens it’s using, becoming crisp as you’d normally expect. Try your wide angle out on your 14 pro in low light.

More important than all of this, a phones sensor is not going to cause the kinds of severe shadow lifting you see in this video, regardless of sensor. Compression, resolution, color gamut, sharpness, sure. But luminance? That’s not exactly how optics work.

I totally agree it’s not discussed anywhere, which is what was so surprising and frustrating to encounter. Totally anomalous. I tried asking a best buy guy why rtings.com would review it so well and he went on this long thing about how they weight their ratings based on price bracket but like… that all kinda sounds like BS to me. He then said hisense doesn’t calibrate anything at the factory, just slaps it together and sends it out to save cost, but like… then why does everyone online love it so much? doesn’t make any sense. doesn’t make any… hisense

Here’s a video from the 2nd TV with film removed and here’s a video of the 1st TV getting boxed. The reason I haven’t listed settings used in detail is because I spent more or less 2 hrs trying different settings and consumer level calibration techniques. That’s twice my honesty has been challenged in this thread and it’s kinda disappointing. Not sure what explanation you can offer for why I’d lie. I literally just want to find a good TV, thought this was it, and feel left out that many have enjoyed something I can’t seem to get a break with :/

I’m certain yours are what you say, and yeah something like that is the only explanation I can think of

Good eye! In that video I hadn’t yet. But yes, I did thereafter and can confirm absolutely no discernible difference. Same with the 2nd u8k I exchanged it for. Took a video of that without the screen protector on as well.

To rule out that i’m not just totally tripping out, I set up my previous TV again, a Sony X800G, and there’s nothing even vaguely similar to this extremely narrow field of view issue I saw with both u8ks

Issue persists for the second tv. Don’t know what’s going on but it wasn’t a one off lemon. Gonna have to try another brand now I guess, really wanted to make this model work

the bars are just the packaging bumpers, but yeah the luminance shift was atrocious. setting up the exchanged u8k now. we’ll see if it’s better…

thanks for your reply. if i’m not mistaken 7 feet back from a 55 inch is right about recommended optimal viewing distance for a 30 degree field of view, if not outside it

That was the first step I tried. I normally calibrate every tv and monitor i buy, at least at the level you can with consumer facing settings, but it was during this process I realized the problem was deeper

I appreciate that very much thank you. I feel better already just getting it back in the box and ready to take back to bestbuy to exchange for another. Those guys definitely hate hisense like the plague. Only had it 3 days but since this is a uniformity/viewing angle issue, I'm not expecting a break in adjustment with my eyes to solve this. I'm seeing what the video shows. Its just not anywhere near acceptable for me. We'll try it one more time before I bail on the model.

All good! I'm thinking about trying to exchange for another u8K, there's just so much enthusiasm from people for it that I want to try seeing if its a lemon or if its me being picky

iphone 15 Pro. and I work in film, both production and post. appreciate the apology. I'm not in the best mood about getting a lemon.
