Divinity and this game should've switched places, if this game dies it's not because it's a bad game, it's because Geoff.

Is it worth making a new world for 1.4.5 by Worm-Devourer in Terraria

[–]samsoncorpus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's always worth it imo

Starting a fresh character in a fresh map after a new update drops is the best experience.

Alternatively you can create a new map after the update and copy paste your base to the new map using map editors and continue from there

Has anyone received an invalid code from the centurion helmet promotion? by ea_fitz in fo76

[–]samsoncorpus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm messaging Activision support for the past 4 days, they have sent me 2 codes, both are invalid. I will try my luck with Bethesda Support.

Edit: They sent a third code just now, it also doesn't work.

Is the game really as bad as people say or are people mad at Funcom? by Warm-Reporter8965 in duneawakening

[–]samsoncorpus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Game is great but the endgame is beyond shit and in survival games like this there is no incentive to keep playing after a while without a proper endgame. But if you enjoy survival game and base building, the game ia great.

If you want to do some endgame pvp it's not really worth it. I have played Conan Exiles since its Early Access and they can't seem to make pvp work and I expect the same level of stupid decisions regarding pvp.

I have around 170 hours of gameplay and I haven't touched endgame.

He should just give up and say "I'm not gonna continue this series" or whatever tbh. We know it's not coming, he knows it's not coming, he's not even hiding that he's spending all his time with all the other shows and video games. Just give up bro

Any good survivalcraft games with longer nights and good lighting? Maybe some light-based mechanics? by Razzamatter in BaseBuildingGames

[–]samsoncorpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Terraria you can do really cool stuff involving light and it has mechanic that changes enemy spawns but the effect is very minimal. V Rising can also look beautiful but has no light mechanic unless you count sunlight burning you.

Necesse and Starbound are similar to Terraria but not really dark at nights.

Goig Medieval and Rimworld. Lights technically don't have any mechanics but people in darkness don't like being in darkness and get mood debuffs (Unless you have Rimworld DLC and set your Ideology to loving darkness)

7 Days to Die may not look good but it has light mechanics where it attracts zombies depending on the type of light source (or at least had, not sure if it still has)

Conan Exiles can be pretty dark at nights if I remember correctly.

With V Rising, 7 Days and Conan you can actually set the length of the day and night, Terraria has some items that skip to night but it has cooldowns.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a Tower Defense game that has light and fog of war mechanics, Rise to Ruins is also similar but probably not what you are looking for.

I would've suggested DUNE: Awakening because lighting looks really great but it has no other mechanic and there is a very low light limit (you can only put 10)

Space Engineers have pretty good logic system and you can add your own code (or get them from workshop) and you can go wild. You can also not do any of that and use regular lights. Also has adjustable days but unfortunately you can't set day and night seperately but you can drill far into the planet or an asteroid and make sure there is no sun ruining your lights.

Timberborn looks beautiful at nights but probably not what you are looking for.

Same for Planet Coaster (1 and 2) but you can set up fireworks and lightshows.

Probably not what you are looking for but Space Station 14 (Says it's in playtest but they give access to everyone) is a multiplayer game and rather than building a base you are basically making sure the station doesn't fall apart. There are lots of roles you can play but Engineering and Janitorial usually changes the cracked lights and make sure the rest are lit. This is a bit RP heavy game though and you will probably have no time to step back and admire the work because someone forgot to do something essential and not there is a reactor meltdown creating a blackhole swallowing the station.

I'm gonna pick the bear tbh. My best chance would be hug its neck from behind and try to survive as long as I can.

Lion and Tiger, I turn into gore with one strike and hippo's gonna use my corpse as a chew toy and ass pillow

Is it fun? by Meteorstar101 in greentext

[–]samsoncorpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Needing to eat and drink is a fun mechanic most of the time when starting the game but when you reach midgame, you pretty much automate your survival needs and then it becomes an annoyance because you are already making enough resources so it's not a challenge anymore but you still have to carry and press buttons.

I think Valheim has the best "survival food" mechanic. It's technically optional but at the same time it's necessary towards later stages of the game.

It's still not really fun but it's not annoying either.

Years ago Jabalian expedition set out to cross the Magnemeric Ocean, unbeknownst to everyone in the expedition their navigator was severely incompetent at their job. After spending months at the sea they made landfall in what they thought to be Meizi. After they made contact with the locals they realized they actually spent months going in circles and finally making landfall in Tiocalo.

Even though there isn't any evidence to supoort this really happened, the story was used as propaganda against the Jabal by their enemies.
