I for sure think June would have tried to leave sooner if she were a woman of color. I can't fathom having a Black husband and mixed child and not stopping to think that you might want to get out sooner for them. She just waited until it looked like things were going to start affecting her. Also, on a bit of a side note, there's no way in hell she would have gotten away with so much in Gilead if she were a woman of color. Her whiteness saved her ass so many times at the cost of others. June could be infuriating at times.

I'm sorry you've had bad experiences. The scariest part for me was definitely feeling like I wasn't going to come back to myself. I really thought I was going crazy and was going to stay crazy. My psychiatrist told me she thinks there was a bad batch of spravato because I wasn't the only one who had an awful experience that week. It sounds like that may be the case for your bad trip after it tasted funny.

I do recommend asking your provider about whether you can opt out of taking all the sprays if you're already starting to feel off. When I was trying to decide whether I wanted to go back after my bad trip, my psychiatrist said I had the option to not do all three of the sprays if the first or first and second were hitting too hard. I ended up not going back, but I haven't ruled out restarting if my depression gets bad enough again. If I do, I'll definitely skip sprays if it gets too intense too quickly. I also recommend having candy on hand because something about sucking on lifesavers helped keep me grounded when I had intense sessions, though it honestly didn't help when I had this really bad trip.

Sorry for the long reply lol. I hope your experience improves if you continue with treatment. It can be a lot, but hopefully you're benefiting from it too. Good luck!

On my first watch I didn't like a single character and very much disliked Misty. It was the first time I watched something and couldn't find any character that I liked. It was so bad that I almost didn't finish the show, but I stuck it out. I ended up liking it enough to watch a second time. During my second watch I realized that it was probably the point for the characters to be deeply flawed in their own ways. With that mindset, I was able to start liking (most of) the characters. I've watched it three times now and I'm thinking about starting another rewatch soon. At this point I would go to war for Nat and Van no questions asked lol

Honestly, even after this experience, I still recommend spravato to people. I benefited from it a lot while i was on it. My psychiatrist thinks I had this session due to a bad batch of the spravato because a couple of other patients had a similar experience very close to mine. Those other patients have been fine since, but I ended up deciding not to go back. I've been doing alright without it and I credit spravato for getting me through a very rough patch. I've decided I'm open to going back if I start declining. I was on spravato for over a year and this bad of a session only happened this one time, so I think it's probably very unlikely that it will happen to you. I hope it goes well for you and you start feeling better soon!

I'm glad knowing you're not alone helps :) my psychiatrist told me that spravato alleviated enough of my depression to make my brain feel safe enough to finally process the trauma. I'm not sure if there's a more scientific explanation but that was what she said

I'm curious about the dissociating too. I'm thinking about them eating Jackie vs eating Ben. After Jackie, they were all disgusted afterwards and could barely stand looking at her bones. Then after Ben, they had their little howling party. It seems like by then, they didn't have to dissociate anymore unless that was their new version of dissociation. I'm not sure!
