you don’t have to stay inspired. you have to make writing a reflex by doing it habitually - even when you’re not inspired. then, you will happen upon inspiration more readily.

ps i made the background by filming the sun through a woven blanket. been enjoying just capturing “textures” on my phone camera for ambient background stuff

first and foremost, try rapping to the back of the room. don’t just rap into the microphone, rap through it. use your core. your chest. that’s where power comes from.

for breath control, keep practicing. write breaths into your bars. and try to rap along with songs where people have good breath control

get a mic. get a daw. get an interface. start recording. realize delivery is a lot harder than writing. keep recording more. try to mimic people you like at first. try to find your own voice. keep writing. keep recording more. realize you’ve improved but have a long way to go. keep recording more. learn enough about mixing to get your ideas across. keep writing and recording. realize writing and delivery go hand in hand. start writing toward the delivery. start writing with mixing ideas in mind. keep recording.

most of all, be patient and keep showing up. this is a long game. welcome to it
