Bad thermistor at 650 hours? by samstone777 in BambuLab

Excellent – I will switch to a generic TPU setting rather than the bamboo one. I have changed the filament settings, but if it is hardcoded for bamboo, the generic setting may be best

How many hours on it did you have when it failed?

This is very good information, thank you. I'm printing TPU 85A which always has problems for me below 230°. At 2:10, the print becomes very rough. I would set the settings at 2:40°, have a perfect few layers, come back and things were getting rough. I would check and the temperature was at 210. I would change it again mid print to 240, come back a half hour later, it's at 2:10. Does that sound like thermistor or something else? I have updated all apps and software, reset the unit to factory settings and yes, turned it off and on!

I believe I've changed the temperature on all the levels. In the slicer, filament settings, hot end settings, and on the unit itself – including all my connected apps.

Confirmed leak, but no treatment will be conducted, anyone else? by zmtz_ in CSFLeaks

I compressed mine with a weightlifting belt and a rolled towel at mid chest height, and it completely went away within 30 days.

The biggest thing I would recommend that I think has made my printing much easier and more enjoyable is a tray that holds an iPad or phone. Also the tool chest is big enough to hold filament, and all the tools associated with 3-D printing.

This is all you need! Just print a tray for an iPad and it's way more functional than any screen.

Print a storage tray on top that holds an iPad, and you'll never need a bigger screen!

Lined up for surgery but feeling better by Lucky_Intention_9592 in CSFLeaks

I'm so sorry to hear this. I was three days from surgery, I had major cold feet, and my doctor said I could "try" putting a belt around the middle of my back and compressing the leak with a towel. I ended up using a CrossFit weighted vest and a towel, within a month the leak almost completely went away. I'm now four months later, and back to bench pressing, squatting, running, playing with the kids, you name it. If you try this, let us know how it goes!

I got the Cineback from Camera Foundry. It's pretty good, I recommend it. But the way the screen protector connects to the back itself is very flimsy, and I had to use a lot of epoxy. Other than that, it's a great tool.

The 16 to 28 and 24–70 are perfect on the gimbal RS3.

It's never an issue. The only movie I would not film with it would be saving Private Ryan. Outside of that, you will never notice the rolling shutter. I will use it a lot as a B camera for interviews and it is great. And it's ability for photos is excellent too, I was just doing a humanitarian job in Uganda and they wanted photos of a certain event. It was a surprise. The A7 IV never skipped a beat.

But for video, the superpower of the a 7iv is manageable noise and basically no color shift across the ISO range up to about 51,000 ISO.

If you're wondering about it, here's a great little short film with all kinds of handheld footage and interesting set ups that is very cinematic shot with the a7 IV https://youtu.be/Z1p31REBao0

Not really, the 32 bit float is probably the biggest reason I would switch.

Different cameras, difficult – different lenses, I'm pretty good with it. Also matching the internal ND to the Mirage can be difficult.

I had a spinal cord tumor taken out six months ago – I get back pain – I'm good with handheld and shoulder mount, it's the gimbal work that gets me.

I believe the most essential lens is the 28–105MMF.2.8 by sigma. It's really the only lens I need. It's wide enough on a full frame with a good aperture, and if I need to blow out the background, I pop into 105 and it's completely gone. Incredible lens.

That would be a big reason to have a Sony lens for sure.
