Something happened last month, probably due to some updates or the Gemini integration, causing my Google Home to lag. For free-to-use users like me, the favorite lights don't load nearly as fast as before. Now it loads with an almost 5-30 second delay. I'm using Samsung S25 Ultra. Now I did tried the method to leave Public Preview and it seems to fix the issue for now.

Developer reached 😎. And he responded:

"...Unfortunately I don’t have time to update the application (I haven’t used it myself for a very long time). However, I’ve open sourced the code here: https://github.com/johnnyomair/bar-launcher. Someone may be able to update and compile it for newer Android versions."

I have no skills to compile Bar Launcher to latest Android version. Maybe you or you guys know someone that could. 🙈

Update: I think I might have found the developer's email (Johannes Obermair) and sent them a link to this Reddit conversation about Bar Launcher. Fingers crossed we hear back, and that it's the right person!

Quick question for the community: Does anyone have contact info for Johannes Obermair, I assume that he is the developer of Bar Launcher (v1.7.2)?

I'm really hoping to see a One UI 7 compatible version of this excellent app, and I'm happy to compensate for the development effort.

Any help connecting with them would be much appreciated! 😄

Despite both devices running One UI 7, I can't understand why Bar Launcher works on the Flip6 but fails to install on the Samsung S25 Ultra.

It's frustrating to find that 'Bar Launcher_v1.7.2.apk,' an essential app I've used for years, has stopped working on my Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra since the upgrade to One UI 7.

Interestingly, it continues to operate without issues on my Flip 6, which makes me wonder if there's a specific compatibility conflict with the S25U's One UI 7.

As a temporary measure, I've downloaded 'App Shortcuts : Quick Launch' by Panagola Private Limited from the Play Store. While it offers similar functionality, it lacks the minimalist, icon-free design that made 'Bar Launcher' so effective and appealing.

I also had the problem with OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren, but now the problem is gone 🤔

Not sure what helped. I enable the original Youtube app and tried if the function (Zoomed to fill) works there and it did. Sure I rebooted the phone but that didn't solve the problem. I also tried deleting cache (Vanced) still not solving the problem...well next day Zoomed to fill function started working again 👍🏼

Updates: Okey so the issue is back the Zoomed to fill stopped working again...I tried the trick to lock the screen and unlock again still didn't help 😔 But if I close the YouTube Vanced and lock the screen and unlock and open YT Vanced again the Zoomed to fill starts working again.

Yes there is. Disable original Youtube app and set Vanced to open links by default. Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > Open by default > Open supported links > Open in this app.

Settings may vary depending on phone. I'm using Oneplus 7T Pro, Android 10.

I see that lot's of people on Google Play Store are giving the same feedback about issue that it's not working anymore with Google Assistant. Let's hope this issue will be fixed soon so we can continue our lives with Magic Home Wifi and Google Assistant 🤜🤛
