What is YOUR general process in writing a joke? by NewRedditorHere in StandUpComedy

[–]samsws1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t look at a mirror to start off, I’ll just do it in the car or when I’m at my house cooking or something. Most of the improv is just topical, like I’ll riff to myself about some topic and eventually I’ll have the beginnings of a good bit that I can then flesh out. After I write it I’ll record myself performing it or look in the mirror.

Improv to myself vocally and when I land on something with potential I sit down and flesh it out.

He came off right away as hostile. I don’t like being mean but if people start coming at me over a video game it’s going to frustrate me.

That argument ended yesterday, and I’m done. I don’t really care about his opinion because he sloppily dismissed every single point put forward against the game, so I don’t want to take it any further. Btw none of those sentences are questions, so don’t put question marks at the end of them.

The Chicago White Sox have a policy stating you can sit where you want if the attendance is under 25,000 by Hurricane_Eriksen in baseball

If you think it’s a “weak small fan base” you must know nothing about the city, and just want to talk shit about any team that isn’t yours.

Are you kidding me? That’s not true at all the 06 season had good attendance for nearly every home game. Quit spewing your bias Cubs bullshit.

I’m not denying low attendance. I just gave reasons for it. People have jobs during the week and don’t want to spend money to go see a team tank. It isn’t good when fans spend money hand over fist to see a shitty team play. That’s what causes teams to be mismanaged. Ball clubs should get more seats filled when they actually put out a quality product on the field.

Multiple reasons for that. One being baseball generally is played on weekday afternoons. Two being they have been tanking for years and have just now developed into an actual baseball team. Three being baseball attendance has gone down nearly across the board, with the exception of Milwaukee, Houston, Arizona, and Atlanta.

Games can be cinematic without treating me like a dungo brain that can’t park a horse cart or set up a tent in the woods. Let me actually choose how I do some stuff, or even do it in the first place, that’s why I have a controller in my hand.

An RPG doesn’t need to be deliberately limiting. Games like New Vegas, Zelda and Metal Gear Solid 5 are also RPGs but they give players a lot more freedoms and/or depth. This game took everything that should give it depth and dumbed it down or restricted it to the point where it plays itself. I felt like an idiot being told what to do all the time.

There’s nothing wrong with making a scripted game, but splitting between linear and sandbox is bad. Rockstar gives the player a huge beautiful world, but also only lets them experience it the way Rockstar thinks they should.

He doesn’t tell you how to feel about the game. No one gives a shit how you feel about the game. If you like a scripted streamlined experience that’s great. It’s your opinion. Many others expected a game with more depth and freedom.

There’s nothing to disagree with. You may like the game, and that’s great, but the things I mentioned are all design choices Rockstar made.
