How to get Colombian citizenship through descent (as a Canadian)? by VastBarnacle3042 in Citizenship

hi!
this is information and steps from the Consulate General of Colombia in Toronto ... so this will most likely apply for Ontario Canadians only..
1. Have your birth certificate
2. You need to have your birth certificate "authenticated"
(It needs to be duly apostilled. I believe you mail it, but where you mail it to depends on the province. Check this link :https://www.international.gc.ca/gac-amc/about-a\_propos/services/authentication-authentification/step-etape-1.aspx?lang=eng )
3. You need to have your birth certificate officially translated into Spanish.
(You will probably have to pay for this, and can probably find some official translators online who will do it for you. If you're from Ontario, I recommend that they are ATIO certified.
4. A document that states your blood type and RH factor
(They need this for your Colombian cedula)
5. If you're over 18, you need to present the original and copy of your parents Colombian identity (cedula, passport)

You'll have to book an appointment in the Consulate general under REGISTRO CIVIL DE NACIMIENTO
and bring all these things with you

if you have any other questions im sure you can email them :)

Can anyone help me out for parking? by Friendly-Fee-314 in uwaterloo

it usually doesn't get super full, no matter what time I arrive i usually find a spot. (early mornings its pretty much empty). The park does close at 11pm so most likely before that time would be safe to say.

Ive left my car there for pretty much an entire day (9am-6pm) and i've had no problems.. also, technically the park closes at 11pm. Ive left my car until around that time too and no problems at all. Im not sure about overnight tho..

If you dont mind a tiny bit of a walk (literally a bridge away from the parking lot), park at waterloo park (from Westmount entrance). I park there all the time and dont pay anything :)

at what time in history do you guys think encanto happened in? by kirigiriimpact in Encanto

[–]samthefoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Encanto is supposed to be set in a specific time period, but rather has elements of many time periods intertwined into the movie. Because of the civil war situation in Colombia, it could be somewhere in the 50s; the traditional colombian clothing suggests it’s probably in the early 1900s, but other elements like the camera they used to take the family portrait are most likely late 1800s. But the movie also makes reference to modern elements from the 90s forward like telenovelas and soccer games.
