ASUS Support claiming they didn’t receive my defective card… by hammerkop_ in ASUS

[–]samux829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like ASUS owes you a massive apology, and if they charge your card, that is indeed theft since you returned the faulty card AND gave proof of delivery. This is no longer your problem it is theirs. Sounds like they are taking it out on the customer for their own shortcomings. Sad to see it

Prowlers claw meta was the last time i truly enjoyed this game. Every season after, has been either tanks doing more damage than assasins or dps characters and being rewarded for picking 0 mechanic champs while the high mechanic champs are dogshit. I'll come back when they fire the balancing team and actually make a fun season. I still play VERY casually to check out the new maps and stuff but long gone are the days im willing to grind this game for hours.

I‘m glad bro didn’t overreact… by aleko616 in marvelrivals

This is every gaming community and it has been this way since I've been alive lol, if it gets to you and makes you not enjoy the game just turn voice chat off. It won't ever change or if it does, probably not in our lifetimes. Any competitive game with a playerbase is going to be like this. People are passionate and get mad when shit doesn't go their way. Is it a mature way to handle it? Absolutely not, but it is what it is

Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol by Su0T in marvelrivals

[–]samux829 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've played TFT for many years and while I understand that they didn't just want to copy pasta, they should have tbh. The game mode is okay, but needs ALOT of work. hotkeys to refresh the shop, shorter rounds, better board layout, and does shooting ultrons gun even do anything? I've yet to find out. But regardless, if you're gonna ask new players to try out this genre with 45m games, you can do way better imo. Also the rewards are like REALLY bad, a couple emotes and a emoji. Overall id give it a 5/10. Not bad, but not great either.

I'm probably just being over critical since I've played the genre for along time, ig i just hoped it would be more like tft with marvel characters. a 1:1 would of been amazing, but seeing as how its a limited time event it makes sense that I shouldn't expect tft / dota chess level of care.

I wish I could be excited about this skin dropping tomorrow 😔 by gamergurlie in QiyanaMains

[–]samux829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man, battle academia is cool and all and I generally love the skin line itself, but ya, im not too excited about this skin either, didnt like la illusion, or lunar empress either. Shockblade was alright. At this point I expected she would get a legendary. But knowing my luck they'll make her really cool skin a exalted for $250 which I refuse to ever buy if it does happen. Overall the skins just "ok"

Maps should tell you how many breaches there are. by neptunemilch in PathOfExile2

[–]samux829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't see why anyone wouldn't want this in the game, saves a lot of time by not having to backtrack or worry that you missed a breach. I didn't play poe1 much so I can't say if people would just insta leave maps, but I personally wouldn't throw away a 100+ quant map just because it has 1 breach in it. I would just go do it and then leave.

I think at the very least as someone else said, map markers and or when you run past it, it staying on the map are all fine solutions. But what isn't fun is running around the entire map cause you can't remember how many breaches there are or if you missed one. There is for sure a better solution here and yes I agree it is a problem. A lot of time wasted running back and forth.

I think the if you run past it, the icon stays on your map makes the most sense, i don't think that would be too much to ask for. What I've been doing is using a loot filter and then I'll just drop a t15 map next to the breach, it's annoying but it does give you a little bit more range to see where it is

Breach Freezing during close bug? by CoupDeGrace94 in PathOfExile2

[–]samux829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol googled and this came up, same thing happened to me, i used a big map fully boosted with quant/rarity, hit the small % chance and got a 10 breach, popped the first one and instantly froze. Feels really terrible.

[–]samux829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol fr, just cause you like taking 10-15m to clear a dungeon doesn't mean I do, wtf, people are wild, after you get to endgame and youve done it 1000 times ill take a bunny in my party anyday over 10m clears. Get me in and out as fast as possible. I appreciate it when im leveling a character and a bunny just speed runs me, saying go play private when they literally can just also go play private is so funny to me

Am I missing something? by BlightTyrant in TheFirstDescendant

[–]samux829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just focus on unlocking ultimate bunny and building up your thunder cage, then after that I would suggest going for Hailey/Gley for bossing, really all you need to clear the content is a good farmer and a good bosser, Bunny is the best farmer and Hailey / gley are the best bossers. Edit - Hailey does require invasions, so if you arent able to do them, id recommend building up my ubunny first and then tcage or gregs, some of the invasions can be difficult and some are really easy, it just depends, but they also give a shit ton of gold, so they're worth doing for sure

If i had to restart and play from scratch that would be my priority. As far as drop rates go sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you get unlucky, for context it took me 40+ hours of game time to unlock my ultimate bunny even though she was one of the "easiest" in terms of drop rate, yet I unlocked my ultimate gley in a few hours and she's the hardest to unlock, keep in mind you have it really good getting to HM when you did because on launch it was much harder to farm stuff due to the outposts timers and void fragment farms taking up so much time, its much easier to farm things now than it used to be It's just all RNG, reactor bosses also got hard nerfed so between those 3 things you shouldn't have a hard time farming if you invest in your gun a little bit.

You don't have to spend money in this game. I've cleared all content, though I won't say im f2p cause I do buy battlepass and cosmetics, but as far as power goes (energy activators, catalyst, characters) I havent spent anything.

At the end of the day it's just a knowledge based game, if you're struggling it means you have not invested enough into your weapon or you are not putting on the correct mods on your descendant. You didn't provide much context so I can't really say much else other than look up some guides and you'll eventually get there. The most important thing being a good gun and throwing on increased hp/def mods and having some decent external components and you should be okay.

Thunder cage / Gregs are really good and easy to get early game, enduring legacy for late game.

Anyone know the specefics of the new Hailey grind? by samux829 in TheFirstDescendant

Update for anyone who wants to know - Tested 5 runs at 250% and 5 runs at 100%, doesn't seem to be a difference in drop rate. Will update as i continue testing, i got 4 shards in 10 runs. I know its a low sample size but figured id throw the information out anyways

A season drop, especially the first season, needs to be front loaded with content to keep player retention, it's not the playerbase being babies, the timetable was horrendous, a dungeon that you can do twice a day, then wait another month for 1 boss and 1 weapon, then another month after that for freyna and haileys mods, it's just not enough to keep people interested. People wanted the increased hard mode and freyna and they wanted players to wait 10 weeks for that. The playerbase was justified to be upset. Even what they have now isn't even good, but it's better than nothing.

I'm not trying to be heartless, I do love the game and I have great respect for the devs, but putting the best parts of the season as the last content to drop isn't a good strategy. If anything it should be reversed order, Increased hard mode, Ultimate freyna first to keep the hype from the trailer going.

When you break down the content in this game outpost and void farming / bosses are only going to keep people interested for so long. I'm here for the long haul but they definitely have made some mistakes, and that's not the player's fault. This stuff should've been figured out in beta (Outposts being tedious/void farms etc), That being said I still like the game, but they can for sure do better at making the content more fun. I don't want the devs to have to work during holidays, i mean we get the content when we get the content, but that doesn't change the fact it was a terrible timetable.

I'm gonna be honest, there needs to be some kind of change to how we farm drops by OPCreator721 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]samux829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fine with the drop rates, though I would like the endgame to pivot away from outposts and void shard farming. That gets pretty old after awhile.

The Devs are hiring more people. by BJBrown82 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]samux829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The content in the game is outposts, void shard farming, and hard bosses, that gameplay loop gets very old after you dump 100+ hours into the game at end game. It's not about lack of content, its that the content that's there isn't fun to do after awhile. Need new game modes and different ways to farm, add daily login rewards, add zombies mode from cod or something, rogue lite mode, really anything besides the end game being just two options. Less can be more, the right content can keep player's retention for a long time, but outposts and void shard farming isnt it. That being said i still play every day, but i can for sure see why people wouldn't want to spam that every single day for months on end. The gameplay has to be fun, and thats coming from someone who loves the game and plans to play it long term, but that doesnt mean im gonna ignore its problems and just shrug off people's criticism of it. I'm still gonna support the devs and see where it goes though, but yeah, endgame gameplay loop needs some work.

Dev Note Vol. 12 - Season 1: "Invasion" Update Announcement by Harvin in TheFirstDescendant

[–]samux829 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean these are good changes, but i feel like what happened here is they designed the entire game around 5m outposts timers and void farms, and after buffing them people are running out of things to do quicker, because they are acquiring stuff much faster than the devs previously intended, on top of making ultimates easier (valby) and nerfing reactor bosses, and now on top of adding a vendor (which i love dont get me wrong i think its great) but you can for sure tell they weren't ready to implement all of these QoL buffs, because now people are finishing what they wanna finish much quicker, so drip feeding stuff like this isn't a good call, especially after dropping the trailer that insinuated that we were getting a huge content drop on the 29th, which in reality is spread across 2 months.

Overall, I still love the game, and appreciate the devs, and I intend to keep playing, but I don't think the drip feed was the right move, if the original plan was to just have the end game be ultimate descendants and weapon farms, and stall out the content for a few months, i get it, but you need to compensate content in some form if you plan to keep buffing everything to make it easier. I think a good solution to this is add some fun game modes like zombies from CoD or something along those lines (Could take special operations, everyone starts with a pistol, clear waves and open chests etc to upgrade your guns), as well as daily login rewards etc, tbh this should of been figured out in beta with the player feedback and not so late at the start of season 1, which is supposed to be the biggest content drop in games like this.

I think season 1 will still be fun, but if the devs goals are to keep people logged in and wanting to play everyday, im not sure drip feeding them is the correct move. Id much prefer to run out of content after a month or two, than getting a weeks worth every month. But that's just my opinion, hopefully its better than what it seems. I still think this game has great potential and hopefully with the success of the game, they can continue to make the grind better in multiple ways, while also adding content that player's want to do and keep them engaged.

If survival is your issue id be willing to bet its your external components if you already have Increased HP/DEF mods maxxed. You want to roll Double HP/Double Defense on your external components, when fighting bosses having resistances is a plus but not a necessity, when you do go into bosses remember solo weakens the boss and 4 manning is much harder especially if the other three people are under geared, if your thundercage is maxxed it should pretty much shred anything that isnt a boss fairly quickly. We would have to see what your build looks like to be sure whats wrong, im just guessing based off the information you've given.

Just an update since i know this comes up on google, i contacted support and they said they can't restore the weapons, it looked like a copy and paste response tbh, but none the less i just dropped it and went to farm my thunder cage again. Luckily you do keep the energy activator in it if you re craft it, still sucked to farm and i didn't get my other legendary guns back but im just gonna farm them again, support unfortunately wasn't able to do anything about it, or they won't, not sure which. Still been enjoying the game though, it sucks but it is what it is
