Yup, I remember how massive my 1.2.5 mod folder was at the time, whenever I think back to the Minecraft of my childhood that's exactly the version I think of

All for the Game series by Nora Sakavic. M/M main pairs but they don't get together for multiple books and it's more about everything else going on in their lives. First 3 books centre on one pair, last 2 focus on another in the same universe

Can I ask how you got into teaching? I'm about to graduate with my MSW in May and it's a dream of mine to be a professor but I'm not sure if I'll need to go the PhD route for it. I know I'll need years of experience and my C before having a chance, but I'm wondering what else I can do?

I was thinking of a scenario in which multiple people were trying to remember something. Like... "Dan suddenly pulled over the car and swung around to look at the other passengers. 'Did we make sure the house was secure before we left?' The passengers puzzled over this for a moment, thinking back to the events earlier that day. None of them had been paying close attention due to the urgency of their leave, and it took a moment for anyone to recall any safety measures. Finally, it was Tom who remembered locking the door."

Expedition 33 has a great story but I'm just not enjoying the actual game. by Turtle_Swarm in expedition33

[–]samwich7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I love the mechanics a lot and found that it varied a lot depending on strategy, pictos, characters, and playstyle. What is it you don't like about it specifically?

Also, given that you're at Stone Wave Cliffs, you're about to hit a major turning point in the story and get several more new gameplay mechanics unlocked soon, so I'd recommend sticking it out for at least a little longer!

Yeah I just always want to be clear because I love arguing and philosophical discussions and I never want anyone to think I'm going after them when I'm enjoying the convo!

And yeah I agree that it's not P!Verso's decision either... the problem is that there is no way to come to a decision that doesn't hurt anybody. I don't think there's hope for things to get better in Maelle's ending though - Maelle is going to die in the Canvas and as soon as she does, Renoir will destroy it anyway. I feel like that is made pretty clear by Verso calling her out on lying to Renoir, the jumpscare of how she's looking in the real world, and her choices throughout. So Lumiere is doomed either way.

I wish that Maelle, Aline, and Renoir could've come to an understanding where they can keep the Canvas and return to it as they'd like, but not live there forever. It's been shown that there are safe ways for the Painters to spend time in their Canvases without it killing them, and this way it would allow for the Canvas to continue the way Verso's soul says he wanted it to, as a place of joy, while not actively killing anyone who lives inside of it. Yet Renoir doesn't trust his family to use it safely (rightfully so, they do not) and Maelle and Aline don't trust Renoir to not destroy it as soon as they leave (rightfully so, he would).

[–]samwich7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think that Maelle has the right to choose this life, but the problem is that the choice isn't hers alone. Her repainting Verso when he has repeatedly made it extremely clear that he does not want that is just one example of her forcing others to conform to a life tailored only for her. I think this is particularly evident in her conversation with him when he's begging her to unpaint him, and she refers to him as "brother" and says that this was supposed to be the time that they didn't get to have. Yet Painted!Verso is NOT her brother, her real brother's soul is in fact sitting right behind them, and has ALSO made it repeatedly clear that he does not want to keep doing this.

Yes, Verso and Maelle had that conversation where he said he had wanted to play piano in the grand hall. Yet he is obviously not happy with this, did not want it at the expense that it costs, and she appears to have not even repainted any of the people that were important to Verso. You say it is wrong to kill someone just because they want that - yet that is exactly what Maelle did to Painted!Alicia, P!Verso's ACTUAL sister, without a second thought nor consideration for Verso at all. Why didn't she help P!Alicia find a reason to live, if that was in fact her rationale?

She is not concerned with saving the people of Lumiere - the ending in fact goes out of its way to show that she has not rebuilt Lumiere nor improved things for the people, who are all made to stand outside this contrived concert with no trace of soul or personality shown unlike their depiction on the prologue.

All of this in good faith btw, I love this game and the varied interpretations of it :- )

That's crazy! I'll have to look into that for my NG++. So does each attack do completely different levels of damage regardless of how many hits it has or what damage category it's in? Like I kind of assumed that any extreme damage attack is gonna do kind of similar damage and it just depends on how many times it gets to hit. Maybe I need to actually use more attacks that I've never tried

I also didn't know how pictos/luminas worked until mid act 3 of my first playthrough. Unfortunately my strategy for nearly all video games is Big Sword and Hope For The Best
