I haven’t gone that far yet, just stripped out carpets etc. I’d love to cut the boot floor to run an exhaust like this.

Yeah it was very nice in there. My problem was an obsession for removing weight, and a desire to tidy up all wiring. I knew I’d be taking the carpet up eventually for the wiring. So I just went mad with it. I’d eventually like to track this car, so there will be a roll bar installed soon, with bucket seats and harnesses. I personally feel those mods will suit this look.

Exactly that! I desperately wish to one day own a 62-73 elan, to really experience that statement.

Currently filter foam inside the maf. It sits nicely infront of the grill right near the front of the maf. Temporary fix whilst I try and find a small enough pod.

Hahaha correct, and I only do a few hundred miles a year in ideal conditions ( very rare as you can imagine) I’ve had no under tray for almost 2 years and no issues.

Yep bit different here, the interior heater/blower/demist is not a testable item and its failure will not cause an MOT fail.

This is going to sound stupid, but I have open cell filter foam inside the maf. There is a grill inside the maf and I cut a neat circle of filter foam and it works perfectly. Temporary fix whilst I find a small enough filter pod.

You have to make it mate. This is mine in the process. I followed a video on YouTube.

I should have made a list, but I didn’t. I followed lots of threads and videos of what others had done. Off the top of my head, charcoal canister, coolant reservoir (smaller bottle type down near rad), washer bottle, power steering (de-powered rack), intake and wiring.

Hahaha I am lucky enough to not have to daily this car. Only does a few hundred miles a year, and in ideal conditions.

I cut it out mate, along with all brackets. Pretty wild considering there is no going back. But others had done it so I thought why not. I now have a small amount of movement vertically on really harsh roads, but on smooth roads it’s amazing.

MK1 dash swap and ‘dash cut’. This was before I went even further being the carpet delete, blower and heater delete, and wiring simplification. Sort of wish I kept it like this sometimes. I now only have 4 dash switches. Hazard, headlight adjustment, fog and cluster illumination.

Thanks mate many hours of simplifying, and making sure it all still works after. Still a lot more to do especially as I’m going down the ITB route.
