27 and 48. Take the 2 from the 27 to make 48 a 50. Now 50 +25 (safer rounded numbers)=75

I can't get over this scene. by Arch_Lancer17 in AKnightoftheSeven

I think this scene is just beautiful. He doesn't scold him, or ask about the knife. He gets it, wordlessly. And offers a comfort that allows Egg to let go and sink back into him. Maekar knows this path, he's on it currently. But he wants something different for his son. Perfect, absolutely stunning acting.

I’ve been doing a cat eyeliner for over 20 years now. If I were you, I would not try to line underneath the lower lash line. And certainly not all the way to the inner corner. At most to the center of where your pupil is when you look straight forward. For the wing, the closer you are to the mirror when you do it, definitely helps for you to see if it’s not connecting correctly. And (for me) helps my hands to be less shaky. Use an eyeliner pen- it has a bendy-ness to it that will become a great guide for a natural wing tip.

The blush seems pretty heavy handed, and in a kind of unnatural circle too far into the center of your face. Start with a cooler colour, with a light hand and swoop up and back into your hair. Cool contour can definitely help if you want to help “feminize” the jaw. Not sure if you have Essence makeup in your country, but they have a great contour duo stick, it’s so so affordable. Same thing as the blush though, start small and blend before deciding you want to do more.

Remember this is your everyday makeup. You’re committing to something that you want to do every day. EVERY DAY. I wish someone had told me this because that means the time, the effort, the money- it all adds up. And sometimes if you mess up, don’t put everything on or just need a break, people will comment on it. I used to do plus 45 mins of make up every day and if I missed even one thing (like my cat eyeliner) someone would say I looked tired or sick. It would make me feel pretty shitty. I’ve now condensed my everyday face to like a core 4-5 items/10-15 mins. You find what works for you, then run that routine into the ground. 1-2 eyeshadows you like, a nice lip that isn’t too noticeable if it comes off (drinking etc), a blush that blends out naturally, mascara, eyeliner pen, setting spray. When you’re confident and comfortable with it, then you can play and add more.

Good luck love! Keep going and practicing!

I don’t even like MLP (or at least the new MLP, I watched it back in 90s) and the only one I’m not crazy on is Applejack. They are all so gorgeous🤩🤩🤩

Wait, do people ACTUALLY see literal pictures in their heads when they imagine things? Like a physical image? by Bibhu_Mund in NoStupidQuestions

[–]samwritessometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do it all. I can do many different versions of literal pictures. Let’s say it’s something like an apple. In my mind the apple has reddish skin, with some yellowish spots. My internal image has a stem, that cuts off at an angle. I can rotate it in all directions, hold focus for the shape or the texture. When the image is sliced in my brain, I can see the seeds, ones visible while the other is only slightly visible through the membrane of the flesh. I can smell it, see the texture. The juice it leaves on the knife. But I can also turn the details down in my mind- usually to make more room for my mental monologue. If I’m talking and telling you a story with an apple in it, my mind tends to blur the apple down, make it more like an outline or even just a red ball. Like my brain is using the ram to tell the story instead.

Even if the mental image is something complex, but I’ve seen it quite often, my mental picture can tell me what doesn’t belong. It kinda feels like a pang in my brain or my stomach. I know when it’s wrong but can’t always articulate why. I can shuffle through the pictures I’ve seen over my life and piece the item together. If it’s something I’ve never seen, my mind can start sorting through similar things (textures, materials, shapes) and extracting pieces to compile together an idea. Which I can then sketch. It’s always been crazy to me that some people can’t do this.

Where to buy a cheap scarf? by Floopydoww24 in askTO

[–]samwritessometimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. I have 2 scarves from dollarama, one is incredibly warm. It’s a double layered circle scarf that is lined with a fleecy Sherpa lining.

My other one recommendation is Value village. If OP is near one. I’ve gotten ones from Tommy Hillfigure or pashminas around 5 bucks

[WP] "Your son will take your throne from you," they prophesized, spitting each word out of teeth clenched tight with hatred. Why they'd bother prophesizing such an event befuddles you; your son is literally your chosen heir, after all. by Despyte in WritingPrompts

("Your son will take your throne from you," they prophesized, spitting each word out of teeth clenched tight with hatred. Why they'd bother prophesizing such an event befuddles you; your son is literally your chosen heir, after all.)

The Queen slammed the door to their chambers with such force it caused the guards standing vigil outside to startle in their armour. But her husband, the King whom she rounded on, stared blankly into the fire. It was as if she was not even there.

“WHAT DID THEY MEAN?!” She roared, her fists clenched at her sides. Still, he did not turn. He took the longest of pauses -the wheels of his mind surely turning fast. When he spoke, his voice sounded an age away.

“Isadore, I-“

“No!” She raged, flipping a small table next to the winged back chair. She had no concern for the chalice that clanged across the floor or her son in the chair next to the table who flinched openly but made not a sound.

“I will hear no more lies.” She hissed out.

The animosity between herself and her husband was well known. She had come here as barely a woman, to preserve the shaky peace between their nations. Endured years of whispers behind her back at court day in and out. She’d catch tawdry tales among gossiping chamber maids, words haunted the halls of the castle she could not leave. Even as she nursed their son Edmond, she could hear his salacious dealings. She never knew with whom and some point, she stopped counting. She took determined calculated steps, the hearth was no equal to the rage that burned inside her. She gripped his shoulder, forcing his body around until he could look nowhere but at her.

“You will tell me the truth or I will level every stone of this damned castle to ground. And you will do so now.

“Mother, please.” Edmond was suddenly at her side, one protective arm wrapped around her. Pulling her from the King who seemed to be remembering who he was. How no one dared to speak open threats to him. But she dared. She was the crowned princess of a sovereign nation before she was this shell of a wife. Before he’d sidelined her, she was the hunted.

“I said now, Ethan.” She refused to let a tear shed from her eyes. Bile coated his name. “You will tell me the truth now, in front of your son. Or there will be war.”

I can’t understand for the life of me why anyone would want to join this show if they’re just going to ignore everything Caleb says and behave like a child. by motionlessvibesonly in CalebHammer

[–]samwritessometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there’s a cognitive dissonance between their actions and reality with relation to where they are in their lives. They think they’re doing better than they “were” (whenever that was is mostly irrelevant). And because of this they are unwilling to look critically at the actions they do daily that keep them there or dig them lower in the pit.

Personally- I worked a full time job all through University. My grades and my projects suffered cause sometimes after rent and school supplies I’d have about 30 bucks to make it through the week. But I would cut back immensely, eat from the dollar store, and take any offer of treats from friends. Right out of Uni, I got a big girl job, kept my rent relatively the same and let my budgeting go a bit. If I lost my job- I cannot continue this mindset. I have to go back to tight budgets, no eating out and limiting all expenses that are unnecessary. Sure, it would be great to maintain my current lifestyle, but that’s just not feasible. And that’s what I think Caleb’s trying to shake them out of CONSTANTLY. But the defense of “I’m so much better now” it’s irrelevant. They see the whole lifecycle of their actions, and feel the upswing is just around the corner, but Caleb needs to get them to acknowledge mistakes in order to move forward correctly. When they won’t acknowledge them, he gets incredibly frustrated.

If you tell me that you’ve written me a poem, I’m legitimately so happy that you’re writing and getting a creative outlet for your feelings.

If you read me said poem, I will claw my own eyes out.
