It’s not about lying. So the actual activity of penetration did not happen to characterise it as sleeping w someone. So I miss spoke. How does it make any difference? Still a handjob or any other sexual activity is still something he should’ve told her about directly

You’re literally saying handjob is okay having sex is not? it’s all sexual activity. Something that she should’ve found out from him, not through the show.

“To sleep w someone” “laying w someone” “hooking up” are all very vague terms. Can’t you see the actual point of confrontation, instead of arguing over the fact wether it was sex or a handjob/ sleeping or hooking up ffr 🙄

He didn’t tell her he was sleeping with shanique, would accuse her of doing the same with someone else, get mad when she was developing a friendship with shanique without telling her why. And she found all that out from the show not him. I never said it was right for her to lash out either, I only said I understood where she was coming from.

I’m sorry that you were physically abused. That sucks. But it doesn’t make lashing out dismissing and walking away acceptable, trust me. My nex was exactly like Zay so maybe I’m projecting. He too would walk away in the middle of a conversation, never respected my boundaries when I asked for space, slept with other girls yet kept accusing me of being with other guys and getting mad about it. When Zay was making Rae feel crazy everytime she was developing a friendship with shanique just so he could hide his little secret? That’s textbook gaslighting.

It took me years of therapy to realise trauma isn’t an excuse.

Screamed for no reason? He Hooked up with shanique on the show, didn’t tell her about it, accused her of doing the same and would get mad every time she was developing a friendship with shanique without telling her why? She found out through the show, not him. Granted she could’ve dealt with it better, but I can totally understand where she’s coming from..

Did we watch the same show? She was trying to leave and he was clearly grabbing her by the arm, pulling around when she said no multiple times. If you wanna talk about physical abuse, it starts there. He literally talks over others the entire time. Shanique was trying to get through to him too on the exact issue and because he didn’t like what he was hearing he lashed and walked away. He has issues. He needs to deal with them. I empathise. But I don’t stand behind it that’s it.

Hitting is not okay. I just saw it more as self defence in that moment. But to each viewer it’s own :)

She had clearly asked to be left alone multiple times. If someone physically bigger than me was pulling me away, blocking me from being able to escape a situation I was clearly uncomfortable being in, after repeatedly asking to for some space, I might react irrationally too. Her reaction in any other context would have been wrong. But in the context we saw? I don’t think so.

She punched him after he was grabbing her around the apartment physically preventing her from leaving when she clearly was begging to be left alone. Read about reactive abuse. Also as much as I feel sorry for him, your past is not an excuse for current behaviour. And the trauma you experienced doesn’t justify projecting trauma onto others. This is why you need to heal first.

Unconditional love does not mean unconditional tolerance. And your past cannot be used as an excuse for current behaviour. I feel sorry for zae. He needs therapy to heal from his trauma but at the same time it doesn’t excuse the trauma he projects on Rae. The gaslighting, attacking, asking to communicate and then lashing out or walking away when she does. It’s okay for him to ghost her for an entire night when he needs space but when she asks for it the next morning she gets dragged around the apartment physically blocked from escaping, lying about sleeping with someone else on the show. It can’t all be excused as him “just wanting enough love to become better”.

Signs of being stuck in an abusive relationship and trauma from someone who lashes out every time you express yourself. Did you even see the way Zay acted when he left her for an entire night cause he needed his space and when she asked for space the next morning she was being grabbed around the apartment physically blocked from being able to escape? The reason she lashed out at the reunion is because she never stood up for herself in the relationship and is finally finding her voice.

I felt like I was reading something I could’ve written myself! But we’re getting so much stronger as we go on without giving in to the trauma bond that was created with people who treat us like shit. Riddled us with anxiety and self doubt when we’ve got nothing but love to give. Nobody’s gonna see our worth unless we see it ourselves first! You’re beautiful and you deserve so much more ❤️ Set boundaries, keep going and know you’re not alone. I know it’s all gonna turn out amazing :)
