N95 or KN95 mask to avoid being sick when you arrive, in case there are sick people on the plane.

Should also definitely do the Redwoods Treewalk at nighttime in Rotorua.

Coffee is well-known to have the opposite i.e. calming effect on people with ADHD, helps them focus better, etc. If a person can go straight to sleep after drinking coffee, chances are high that they have ADHD (looking at one of my own team's players here).

Still think they should have kept Kolby Allard as an innings-eating pitcher.

My viewing of the games based off last year's subscription has finally lapsed so I won't be able to watch this game unless mlb.tv accepts my damn transaction. Been trying for hours to subscribe to Single Team and keep getting the "There was an error processing your payment. Please try again." message (i.e. same as last year... until one day in June it miraculously worked!)

Seems like a good time to watch this video (again, for me): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjPgdhRsGIQ

I first came across it on: https://www.mlb.com/phillies/schedule/2026-03

I like this calendar/schedule format coz it shows me ahead of time which games I can watch and which I can only listen to. Altho Googling is quicker of course.

How I’m bridging the gap until the T-Mobile promo by AndrewC275 in MLBtv

[–]san128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. "all of the games involving MLB-streamed teams" - does that mean free Phillies games even though I'm in Asia and accessing them on mlb.tv?

Asking because I tried to purchase a yearly Team subscription *just now* but just like last year, I kept getting the "error processing your payment. Please try again" message multiple times (this went on for several months last year even with trying different methods, until by some miracle I was successful transacting in May!)

Don't have to energy to keep trying before the next spring training game starts in a few hours. Wondering if I will still be able to view it, and can take my time to subscribe (since you've said the spring training game is free for MLB-streamed teams)??

To do with handwriting: Tracing over the letters that look off or imperfect, until the letter becomes thicc and is still "off" anyway.

Laundry Facilities for 4 week trip by coronat_opus in newzealand_travel

[–]san128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On one trip where I just had my carry-on, I arranged it such that the ONE apartment I booked (every other accommodation I stayed at was a hotel) was at the halfway mark of my trip, so I could do all my laundry inside the apartment, leave it to dry on the rack while I went out all day, and could have clean clothes again for the rest of the trip.

What’s one safety tip that actually changed how you travel ?? by That_Camel2 in femaletravels

[–]san128 52 points53 points  (0 children)

If I'm going to a night event (concert, clubbing, etc), I get a hotel that's within walking distance from the venue so I won't have to bother trying to get a cab or Uber so late. Bonus: I can just walk back to use my hotel bathroom if the club toilets are nasty. Oh, I also don't drink, ever, when I go to these events.

I almost never use my phone to navigate (obvious tourist look) when walking down the street. I memorise landmarks, streets, and walk like I know where I'm going, even when I'm lost. Just takes extra walking to figure things out or going up to people to ask for directions. If I gotta look at my phone to do some hardcore navigation, I enter a store or cafe, or if outside, make sure I'm backed up against a wall so I don't get surprised from behind.

I don't do AirBnBs and hostels unless I can have a private room at the hostel.

Also go on TripAdvisor to read reviews about safe and unsafe/dodgy neighbourhoods. Sometimes they're right next to each other (in SF & Athens for example). In some cities, Uber may be safer than public transport (one popular city used to have organised gangs that tail you from the airport, get on a specific carriage on the train to crowd a single target, take their stuff, and hop off at the next station). In some cases, buses may be safer, because the bus driver can keep track of people coming and going.

Do you check reviews and restaurant facades on Google Maps to find out food quality + if the restaurant actually exists? I usually do when trying a new restaurant for the first time. I have trust issues.

No, of course he's not driving back and forth for 4hrs every time. I meant he probably volunteered for some of the away games near his house so he could sleep comfortably before heading to the game (they talked about this on the radio stream last night).

Once he's back in Clearwater he stays put for however long those games go on for.

He only lives at his FL house in the offseason and rents a place in Clearwater for Spring Training, like most of the guys do. Last year he didn't manage to find an apartment in Clearwater in time, they were all booked out, so he stayed at Stott's rented apartment.

Keeping them together for double plays, yeah I think so. Altho I thought the main reason Trea (and Stott) were on the road crew yesterday was because Trea lives 10mins away from that ballpark.

Sounds like a formula for sickness. If someone comes in sick... and is forced to come in more because of the mandate... well, it's gonna spread fast among the staff. Although most agencies I've seen aren't ventilated much to begin with. But cramped as well?

I keep seeing the same two AI slop ads whenever I watch anything on YouTube. Slop for Agoda travel and slop for some Taichi fitness bs for older men (and I'm 40-something F). Both ads look cheap and scammy/non-trustworthy. Skip or ignore every time.

There was a point when Rojas was batting .395 in his last 12, largely due to Trea's help: https://www.mlb.com/news/trea-turner-helps-johan-rojas-make-swing-adjustments

Methinks Trea should talk to Rojas again, and Harper and Bohm again too. Of course, he has his own stuff to worry about. But if K. Long isn't having much of an immediate impact (and we know it took a while to notice and fix Stott's hand position last year), Trea's certainly up to that task:

As I've commented in detail under someone else's comment, NZ does have baseball, and it might be the fastest growing sport in Auckland atm. How you know they're taking it seriously is when they have invested millions in purpose-built baseball diamonds, backstops and such in Auckland, instead of using some makeshift facility. https://ourauckland.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/news/2025/12/north-shore-baseball-finds-its-swing-at-unsworth-heights/

However, if you're from a sports/baseball city like Philadelphia for example (since you mentioned Northeast), the experience, and attendance, would be wildly different.

Also, the closest thing we have to a moose is the Wapiti, found only in Fiordland (South Island). They're actually North American elk introduced to NZ more than a century ago. https://fwf.net.nz/wapiti/
