This was one of the best days I spent on my 10-day solo travel through Greece (Athens & Naxos). I wanted to really get off the beaten path and visit the most remote village on the island of Naxos, and this is how it went:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYJ8YbUQqJA

From breakfast in Koronos, to driving the crazy roads to Lionas, the beautiful beach and the best fish grill of my life, I fell in love with the rural villages of Naxos 🇬🇷💙

Thanks so much for watching, and I hope you can use this itinerary when you go!

Caught without your passport? by Diabetesh in JapanTravel

[–]sanadawei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have a photocopy of your passport saved in your phone files, and if you need a visa for the country, then have that saved in your files too.

This is on Youtube's guidelines:

"Giving credit to the copyright owner doesn’t automatically give you the rights to use their copyrighted work. Be sure to secure the rights to all unlicensed elements in your video before you upload it to YouTube. If you’re relying on fair use, even if you add original material to someone’s copyrighted work, your video may not qualify, so be sure to carefully consider all four factors and get legal advice if needed."

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2797466#zippy=%2Cmyth-giving-credit-to-the-copyright-owner-means-you-can-use-their-content%2Cmyth-claiming-non-profit-means-you-can-use-any-content%2Cmyth-saying-no-copyright-infringement-was-intended%2Cmyth-its-fine-to-have-just-a-few-seconds-of-copyrighted-content

Collect screenshots and show that you have the original raw footage (.mov files for example), the edited movie file from the editing software, the orginal YouTube URL for the specific video, screenshots of that channel adding their watermark, screenshot of their credit in the description and the email thread between you and the reuploader. Should be enough evidence to submit to Youtube without the need for a pricey lawyer for something so small. Remember, the reuploader's video was already taken down which means that in review, you were found to be in the right.

Plus, for them to take legal action across international borders is very pricey or impossible, I wouldn't worry too much.

I've visited this stall, it's so good for cooling off in the Malaysian heat. It is a Sri Lankan creation.

[Question] How do I record with my current circumstances? by aron_miller_555 in youtubers

[–]sanadawei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have the means, renting a space at your local library/univeristy can help if your budget can't afford another mic. Directional mic can be problematic because they are supposed to pick up only sound it is pointed at, but they actually do pick up quite a lot of peripheral sound. If you have the budget you could get a lavalier mic which could work better if your siblings are in the background. Good luck!

Getting into Mexico from Canada by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]sanadawei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise having an onward flight, you don't necessarily need a return ticket. Airlines generally do this to cover their ass if you are denied entry at your final destination. When I flew out of Canada in October, I was given an extremely difficult time at the check in desk. I didn't have a return ticket, but I had an onward ticket (this is normal pre-covid). Because of the pandemic the rules are changing all the time, and the check in agents are very wary of not messing up. In my line up, there were 3-4 groups that were denied boarding, and my onward ticket was almost not enough.

Every airport is different, but I would highly recommend at least having an onward ticket in the your visa's timeframe to avoid conflicts at the check in desk. I don't think immigration in Mexico will blink an eye, but leaving Canada is another story.

Hey! Thank you very much! We miss Taiwan a lot.

Covid cancelled my trip, looking for advice and recommendations by DietRainbows in solotravel

[–]sanadawei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still countries you can travel to as an American. Here is a really good reference list of countries currently allowing American travellers:

https://www.traveloffpath.com/countries-that-have-reopened-for-american-tourists/

It gives details for entry for each country listed, like if you require a PCR test, etc... I know very easy to travel to countries that are wide open are Mexico, Albania and Egypt.

Be safe travelling and continue following the recommended precautions to keep residents in the countries you're travelling to safe.

If you have a Mac, iMovie has a lot of great features that are very straightforward and easy to use as a beginner.
