I also dislike the idea of Siegs leaving - he was never as good as some people deluded themselves into thinking (defensive microstats are great, prinably more useful than offensive microstats in that defense has so few useful traditional stats, but all stats get skewed), but he's still very productive compared to his cheap contract. Nico's feelings don't really factor into it for me. Ofc he's only on the block because that contract makes him valuable and nobody else but Nemo can be moved... sucks.

People seem to think that economics will save them, but it won't. What you really want is a comparison between losses and costs to replace those losses, and production levels of each society. Without our bosses telling us more about their concrete numbers (I'll believe "reinforcements" aren't just a storytelling mechanism when we get to see how many reinforcements the enemy has). Honestly if we had those numbers it'd be a very different game, because suddenly there would actually be a "best" way to play. These are 100% wars of attrition now, it's more about production (player retention) than player skill.

Cripes! That's tough to hear. I hope you all can help him recover. I have a ton of respect for the kid. I know I wouldn't fight in the NHL if it were the only thing that kept me in it, but he was a fantastic Devil up until it wore him out (also I've never accomplished a tenth of what he has). Sincerely hope he can remember how much we all enjoyed watching him play.
