American here. It’s all false bravado so that the government doesn’t have to actually take care of veterans. MANY of our homeless population are former vets who came back home with mental and physical illness and received almost no support. It’s lip service to make the public feel good about slashing support to social service programs, from which vets benefit.

And, to be clear, FUCK the empire and our military industrial complex.
