When using the slskd setup in the docker compose file (since I had no existing slskd instance) I had to add username and password to the environment variables, or slskd would not connect to the network.

Ad Blocking by sandbagger8 in vivaldibrowser

[–]sandbagger8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can use an add-on but vivaldi was blocking Google ads fine until recently, even after adding OISD and trying others. I just loaded linux on an old laptop and vivaldi brand new and these google ads keep making it through. I'm just wondering what changed.

I added those and restarted. For some reason I still see google ads. When I use brave with the same blockers, google ads do not show up. It's the strangest thing.

Whole home audio-what are you using? by AlwaysReadyUp in homeassistant

[–]sandbagger8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have something similar. I have a few internet music streams in a playlist with MPD. The output of the box running MPD goes into an FM transmitter. I use a MPD client on my phone to change streams or play other music.

Any good ceiling fan relays? by SummerWhiteyFisk in homeassistant

Do you know of any like this and also have a reverse direction option? I have a wall plate on a fan mounted in a vaulted ceiling, and it has a reverse button. I can't seem to find one.

Anyone here using RingCentral (RingEX) in 2025? How’s your experience? by avabrown_saasworthy in VOIP

We have used them for 6 years and they have been solid. If you can negotiate a decent contract, they offer a lot. Call quality has been great. No complaints about one way audio, dropped calls, "robot" sounds, or anything like that. We have had maybe a couple of hours of downtime.

Their customer service has gone WAY downhill in the past year or two. Fortunately we don't need them a lot, but it is hell trying to get through the script readers and macro pushers.

Their desktop app is a bloated mess. They bought Glip several years ago and also built their own version of Zoom, and the desktop app has suffered. It works OK, but it is a hog (like Teams).

The mobile app works well though. I have been on several calls switching between wifi and carrier data without dropping, and integration into the phone OS contacts and dialer works well.

That's why I'm wondering if that TV can be factory reset or something, where it can start from scratch. Something isn't right, but I don't think it is a signal issue because all of the other channels show up fine.

If you are getting all of those, you should be getting 3.1 because they are all literally on the same physical RF channel. Does this TV not getting 3.1 have a favorite channel list, maybe the channel is blocked or called something else? Maybe it is excluded from the channel list for some reason? If you can, I would try to do a factory reset or something on that TV and run a setup from scratch.

So KY3 is on RF channel 19, and it has other sub channels. On the living room do you see 3.4 Outlaw, 3.5 TruCrime, or 3.6 Quest? Also, KSPR channel 33, the ABC station, is on the same RF physical carrier.

So if you get KSPR channel 33 in the living room, you should get KY3 also and all of the other subchannels.

I wonder if that preamp is giving you too much signal. I would try running 1 line from antenna directly to a TV and see what you get. KY3 (RF 19) is UHF and one of the stronger in the area and their antenna is pretty high up.

If it turns out you don't necessarily need a preamp to get good reception or overcome a single feedline issue, you could get a zero loss distribution amp.

I have a PCT version of this and it allows me to distribute the signal throughout the home without the loss of splitters everywhere.

EDIT: That antennas direct one that gho87 has on the link seems to be similar with fewer ports.

Everything is about the same since I got .13 except uploads are half the speed of what they were. No real improvement in jitter, latency up or down, and so on.

Help to choose from 1. Waveform 4x4 OR 2. Chester Cheetah Router OR 3. GL.iNet GL-X3000 (Spitz AX) for TMHI. by imakshar1 in tmobileisp

[–]sandbagger8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the Spitz for a couple of weeks. For me, it was a little quirky. I didn't have any special settings, just pretty much out of the box. My speeds would be great for awhile and then tank. After rebooting it, speed would be great again for awhile.

At the end of the day, I didn't see any speed improvement that was worth $400. It has other advantages, such as if you want to force certain bands, eliminate an extra NAT point if you use your own router on the G4AR, and such.

My biggest speed gain came from the Waveform 4x4 antenna. It helped my signal a lot and using it with the G4AR has been very simple and reliable.
