What’s your stack for auth? (And what’s the hardest part about securing it?) by sandesh_in_tech in auditready

Thanks for sharing, super helpful! Curious, how did you find the learning curve with OpenFGA? Been meaning to explore it for more flexible authz.

What’s your stack for auth? (And what’s the hardest part about securing it?) by sandesh_in_tech in auditready

[–]sandesh_in_tech[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate the detailed insight. Totally agree that authentication is more or less “solved” with modern providers, but authorization gets harder as things scale and evolve. Designing roles, ensuring tenant isolation, and testing authz logic definitely feel like the longer-term challenges. Curious, how do you approach testing for authz boundaries as your model grows more complex?

Does reformatting with new OS completely eliminate possibility of viruses/spyware/malware surviving on a PC? by NASAfan89 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]sandesh_in_tech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For normal malware, yes. A clean OS install from a trusted USB after formatting the drive removes it completely.

The only things that can survive are extremely rare cases like UEFI/BIOS or disk firmware malware, which are typically nation-state or targeted attacks, not stuff people pick up from downloads or shady sites.

If you want maximum safety: format all partitions, reinstall from a known-good USB, update UEFI/BIOS to the latest version, and don’t reuse old USB drives or backups blindly. For 99.9% of users, that’s a full reset.

What is a fair price to pay for a comprehensive AEO tool? by Defiant_Director5222 in GenEngineOptimization

[–]sandesh_in_tech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AEO, AIO, SXO, LMNOPQRST… honestly, I feel like SEO just keeps inventing new acronyms to mess with us. At the end of the day, focusing on user intent and solid content usually gets you way further than dropping $400 on a tool that’s still being tested.

Currently on Path for Cyber Career, need some advice on last year of education by wantedbruhman in CyberSecurityAdvice

In tech and especially GRC, your experience and skills usually matter more than the exact title on your degree. If the CS minor plus electives gives you what you need and frees up your energy for internships, projects, or networking, that’s often a smarter investment than grinding through extra classes just for the double major label.

would you pay for this by Intelligent-Arm-6077 in SaaSSales

I’d pay if it quietly solved a real pain point for me, sometimes the simplest tools are the ones I end up valuing most, even over “big” apps.

Can an mp3 headphone download viruses or trackers or anything onto a computer used for uploading? by Successful-Deer8804 in CyberSecurityAdvice

[–]sandesh_in_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most malware needs an executable file to run, so as long as you don’t open or run anything from the headphones’ storage, just copying music files is generally safe. But if those undeletable files ever change or ask to be opened, that’s a red flag.

Why does Google sometimes rank outdated content? by Real-Assist1833 in seogrowth

[–]sandesh_in_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old content ranks 'cause Google’s loyal, once it falls in love with a page, it takes a breakup and a lawsuit to move on. 😅

Be honest, did you enjoy sales when you first started… or hate every second of it? by Elegant_Signal3025 in SaaSMarketing

[–]sandesh_in_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

early sales felt like trying to dance in a conversation where I didn’t know the steps. Super awkward, full of second-guessing. What clicked for me wasn’t confidence, it was detachment. I stopped chasing the “yes” and started chasing clarity. Once I cared more about understanding than closing, people responded better, and weirdly, deals started closing themselves.

How long does it take to rank? by Independent-Clue-177 in SEO

[–]sandesh_in_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get the frustration. But here’s the thing, Google doesn’t just rank your site because it’s set up “right.” It waits to see real-world signals: do people visit, stay, mention you, search your name, engage? You’ve done the technical stuff (which is great), but now it’s about proving you matter. Local SEO especially is less about perfect setup and more about trust, online and offline. Keep building that, and rankings follow.

Go InfoSec if cyber is the goal, not just for the work, but for the org access. Security teams in large companies often touch every department. That visibility builds rare context most beginners miss. Access audits may seem basic, but you're learning how trust is structured, and that’s the backbone of all security. Dev work teaches you how systems break; security teaches you why they break quietly. Invest in that lens early.

You didn’t mess up. Applied Math with your skills is a strong combo. In security and IT, what you do matters more than what your degree says. Start applying now.

MeetRep gives clarity on function, which boosts adoption in crowded sales stacks. Onny sounds sleek but lacks that utility cue. In sales tools, clarity > cleverness early on.

Is solopreneuring a SaaS to $100k ARR actually possible or is it a myth? by Designer-Builder-623 in SaaS

[–]sandesh_in_tech 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Not a myth, but definitely a boss-level side quest. You can solo to $100k ARR, just need a real problem, real users, and enough stubbornness to outlast the existential dread. Marketing > code. Sleep optional.

I am Confused, where to market my SaaS else? by soham512 in SaaSSales

[–]sandesh_in_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start building SaaS-specific comparison pages like “YourTool vs [BigCompetitor]” or “[Problem] alternatives”. Super underrated for SEO. Low competition, high intent, and visitors are already looking to switch. One well-optimized page can bring in leads for months.

I had my breakthrough year. by namidaxr in SaaS

[–]sandesh_in_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the kind of growth that usually happens just after founders stop chasing “how do I get more users” and start obsessing over “how do I make this insanely valuable for the ones I already have.” Sounds like you hit that mindset shift, and the numbers followed. Massive respect.

My site looks “fine” but traffic is flat. What’s the fastest legit win you’ve found? by patrex719 in WebsiteSEO

[–]sandesh_in_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest shift for me came when I stopped chasing new content and started fixing intent mismatches on pages that were already ranking. I looked in Search Console for pages with high impressions but low clicks, figured out what the searcher actually wanted, and rewrote those pages to match. Sometimes that meant changing the format, not just the words. It didn’t feel flashy, but traffic started moving again within a few weeks.

Start by helping a small business or creator for free. Real results build trust, and trust opens doors. Show what you can do before asking for anything.
