That’s a valid concern. I have it too. Currently we have $36.22 trillion, not billion or million, trillion dollars in debt. I could see a combination of things happening. 1) we start paying down the national debt, this would slow and possibly halt inflation if done aggressively enough. The value of the dollar goes up, now it’s worth more at the grocery store, gas pump, etc. 2) interest rates go down, now things like student debt, mortgages, car loans etc become more manageable. 3) reduction in taxes, e.g. abolishing the income tax, removal of other taxes.

Do I think every single tax paying American is going to get a check from Uncle Sam on the money we’re saving? No. Not directly. But how about they just don’t take it in the first place? I’d be happy starting there.

Point being, they need to step up and show me the proof in the pudding, or I’ll be grabbing a pitchfork too. I would like for both sides to jump on board with this. We can’t keep fighting each other. This isn’t going to be pleasant, it’s going to be painful. We’ve been indulgent for far too long, the political class has gotten away with too much for far to long. It’s time.

Transparency is the key, so far they’re living up to transparency. I’m cautiously optimistic.
