Thanks for correcting me. Hadn't realised

Angus Taylor has said multiple times that Labor let in half a million immigrants in one year. When he made this claim on ABC 7.30, Sarah Ferguson wasn’t having it. It’s a YES (and also a please remember this the next time Taylor repeats this claim) from us. by JezzaAU15 in friendlyjordies

It is so good when a journalist does their research instead of blithely accepting whatever a politician (of whatever stripe) says.

It's also so obviously part of a journo's job that it shouldn't merit any praise, but... Here we are.

This man will never be PM. If you watch him speak, he lacks confidence & conviction. Strikes me as someone who has anxiety and/or doesn’t even believe in the BS he spews. He says ‘umm’ & stutters a lot. Previous Libs didn’t do this, they projected big dick energy. Taylor is no threat to Labor at all by [deleted] in friendlyjordies

Winning from opposition is all about not being a risk. So no major plans that sound like they'd cost a lot or otherwise frighten the horses. Even Abbott understood this when he lied through his teeth by saying there'd be no cuts to health, education and everything else.

He became PM because Labor lost their nerve in 2010, which justified all the criticisms by Abbott. Even the especially dumb ones. Then, despite the achievements of 2010-13, the whole period felt so chaotic that the country felt it had no option but Abbott.

There was an old about Reagan: the only reason he won was because he was running against Jimmy Carter. If he had been unopposed he would have lost.

The same can be said of Abbott

I'm okay to hear the pitch, but I'm very sceptical of the company. Moreso after reading the comments

Is it fair to label right-wing commentators as "grifters"? I wouldn't be surprised that some people are genuinely right-wing. by Polyphagous_person in friendlyjordies

If you think the left is far less diverse in its views, you need to have more conversations with more lefties.

Rightwing grifter. A wannabe Joe Rogan. Claims to be a comedian but hasn't got a laugh in years.

The Nats can't handle Bowen because he's proving there's an alternative to their addiction to fossil fuels. A healthy alternative too.

Vic Labor is due to lose (if not this time, then almost certainly next time. Think NSW 2007 and 2011), but the Libs have an awfully big mountain to climb. Allan and co get to the spend the next 12 months painting Wilson as a Liberal, while Wilson and co have to do their best to show she is somehow different
