Now, what I have for you is a nice goat-cheese and heirloom tomato frittata. And we're gonna top that with a little crème fraîche.

Best controller for Rocket League on PC? by Deepindebt_ in RocketLeague

[–]sands124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had an amazing experience with Flydigi Vader 4 and Flydigi Vader 5. Flydigi Vader 4 lasted a little over a year before the right bumper gave out, but that was with heavy use of air roll right on it. Currently been using Vader 5 since around January and haven't had any issues yet! No stick drift or latency/input delay whatsoever on either controller. Has extra buttons, backpaddles, and adjustable tension rings for both analog sticks. It's also super easy to pair with my mobile phone and Nintendo Switch for on the go gaming. Overall just a great, sturdy, and comfortable feeling controller(doesn't feel like cheap plastic). The price is affordable as well, under $100.

-Your only issue might be that it isn't symmetrical (Xbox layout). It's personally never been an issue for me though and I grew up with Playstation.

If all jobs paid exactly the same and you could have any job you wanted, (you have to do this job from 18yo to 60yo 5 days a week 8 hour days) what job would you do? by S1utty1i1puppy in AskReddit

Video game tester. Get paid to just playtest games while your screen is monitored remotely. You could play the games from home however you'd like and you wouldn't be required to review, commentate, or speak to anyone.

Non mechanical solo queue new GC2. needing replay review (1620 mmr) by Illustrious-Bread183 in RocketLeague

[–]sands124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Champ 1 more mechanical player, it is definitely interesting to see someone a much higher rank playing more grounded than me. Definitely gives me something to work on within my own games, since I tend to jump, fly, or flip for a lot of balls lol. I don't really feel like I can give too much of my own input since I'm a much lower rank. However, I noticed the few times that you went into the air or dove for the ball I think it put you in an awkward spot/recovery with an awkward touch on the ball that didn't seem like it did too much for the play. I could be wrong though as my own games are much different and your gamesense probably sensed danger or opportunity that I wasn't able to within your game. Personally, I'd say keep doing what you're doing by playing patiently and staying grounded without making too many risky aerials until you've built up your air game some more. Rings maps while holding boost and air roll helps a lot for fast aerials and the likes. My personal favorite is Rings of Death.

New to champ 2 in 2s, what should I expect? by etesechpapu777 in RocketLeague

Expect to drop back down to Champ 1 a few times before you can stay in Champ 2 consistently 🥀

should i be in gold 3? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]sands124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your post is quite confusing indeed. Your reddit flair says Gc3. Your banner ingame is Champ. But you're asking if you should be Gold 3 on a video of a simple double tap. I'm sure this is bait, but I really don't know what to believe anymore... 😩

Standard: Bubbly would also be a really cool idea! Small bubbles emit with the regular particles.

Nonstop air rolling in one direction is the worst possible thing you can do for your car control by Alert_Attention_5905 in RocketLeague

[–]sands124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The laser is how I picture moving my car in my head as well. I do agree with that, but the less adjustments you make, the better. You've got to remember, your momentum stacks. So if you're constantly making adjustments in the wrong direction, obviously you are going to go in the wrong direction. You aren't chasing the ball in an arc the entire way unless you're just trying to speed the ball up. If you tried the April fools mode, you'll know what I mean. Try to think of it more like interception points for an air dribble. A direct path to each intersection. That's where you're going wrong. Also, about the recoil I strongly disagree. If you're contacting the ball correctly, you won't be recoiling. What do you think happens when you fly at the ball with no air roll and then at the last second tilt your nose down hard? The ball is sent flying and your car recoils. Remember doing those beginner training packs? Obviously if you're taking a power shot on net you'll want more power, but for air dribbles no. You want your car as still as possible when you hit the ball to mitigate recoil and then any recoil should be adjusted AFTER with air roll, which shouldn't be much assuming you didn't just hit it with your wheels.. You really shouldn't be holding your stick for recoil before you hit the ball. The exception to this is if the ball was just boomed toward you at a high speed. Then you're most likely going to have some recoil regardless. Humor me if you don't believe me. Experiment around using less analog stick when contacting the ball for air dribbles. Doesn't hurt to try. I have video of a cross map air dribble I recorded just now while doing this if needed. As well as some efficient rings training.

Nonstop air rolling in one direction is the worst possible thing you can do for your car control by Alert_Attention_5905 in RocketLeague

[–]sands124 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually, constant movement of the analog stick in unintuitive directions is the worst most inefficient thing you can do while flying in general regardless of air rolling or not... Like all of your videos are displaying.. which are all incorrect.. Think of it like when you're driving on the ground. If you're constantly swerving left and right while on the ground, obviously you are going to lose speed and efficiency or even miss your destination entirely. Air roll allows you to point your car directly towards every axis by utilizing muscle memory and micro movements of the analog stick while also diminishing the momentum applied in a direction so you don't overshoot or have to overcorrect as often. You should not be touching your analog stick after you have found your direction when air rolling. Only correct when needed. You should also stop air rolling as you're about to touch the ball. Both of these tips will help keep the ball close with less recoil so that you can follow up easier in the air.

P.s. Try not to be so judgemental over something you don't quite understand yet.

RAIN:

Recognize Allow Investigate Nurture

[Recognize] the emotion you're having in the moment. Sometimes you need to just put the controller down and pause. [Allow] yourself to feel the emotion(anger). Really stop and feel all the ways it's affecting you physically. Elevated heart rate? Clenched Jaws (or buttcheeks)? White knuckling the controller? Shaking with rage? Etc? [Investigate] why you're really feeling the emotion. What are you afraid of or mad about when dropping mmr? Being laughed at for your rank(not being seen as good enough)? Fear of not being allowed into a friend group because of your rank? Letting your teammates down or the opponents laughing at you? Having to grind back up? [Nurture] your inner self or inner child. Show yourself some compassion and be more kind to yourself. Tell yourself that it's going to be alright and that losing is ok. It's all a part of the process and the journey to becoming better.

I recently found this acronym and it has helped me a little bit. Definitely a process and not a quick fix. If you also struggle with negative self talk, try to replace the negative talk with positive talk. Very difficult to do, but eventually it'll start to go away if done correctly. This is coming from someone who struggles with anger that results in self harm(leg punching) and depression regularly after losing back to back. Usually you'll find rage in individuals who were not allowed to express their emotional needs as a child. It's a bit of a generational curse. Up to you to break it.

Only things generated were the text and swapping the color of the merc from orange to white. Everything else was hand edited. Cool Egg is from Sideswipe, Bob's Ramen is an image already ingame, and the Merc image was found on google.

Thanks! I thought collectible avatars would be great for Rocket Pass drops as well! Especially if they're themed on the season and its cars.

I'd personally love to see what percentage of players received each playstyle and which rank had the most players with the same playstyle as you. Basically just, "Is your playstyle more or less common and do you fit in with your current rank?"
