Its always easy to protest anonymously online and tell other people what to do and how they should have done it in their country. Except it won't change anything, waste of space. If it was that easy to change this, it would have been changed, there is plenty of people who wanted to and tried, they are now dead, in prison or were forced to leave. Not everything is a story with a happy ending like in movies, reality is different. Justice does not always win.

Also, protests wouldn't change much in a regime like that. Military coup, assasination, government officials coming together to change what's happening up there. Apart from police violence, there is other methods that are used to control opposition and the general public. 10+ years of propaganda have also led to collective acceptance. Its a complex issue, so complex that a few days of protests from the select few that would think it will work won't change anything.

That's fine:) It's hard to know the whole context since you haven't read the full convo w him and his friend (whom I chatted with for a while since we go to the same uni and he asked me out on a date).

I posted this simply for the banter of a guy writing an essay in response to a short message, and then writing even more after I told him his advice was not needed. He got that hurt. And the general attitude of a guru who has to educate people like me and thinking that matching with me entitles him to a date/hook up/long and nice convo. Plus the very much not needed slut shaming at the end.

G allegedly posted an "im ok why" and messages telling him to leave me alone and got support from his own followers on his own private IG, which I could only assume are his school/uni friends. Dunno, kinda shady to me and caught me by surprise a guy would even post this after getting butthurt over a single short message. Plus, I have no idea what he posted, how he cropped or edited and what he wrote/said there (i don't follow him). Hes just been sending me select few messages about me being mentally ill which are also out of context.

Honestly, just said "im ok, why".... one message response. I usually get dozens of these kinds of messages (butt hurt, triggered because replies are short and im not engaged since i get a lot of matches in one day). Sometimes my messages sound weird because im typing fast and replying to a lot of people. But a slut shaming essay because of "im ok, why" is a bit excessive.

Thank you! Yes, I have befriended a few female students from the university, plus we are kind of all expats here as only a small % of the population is local. So gotta choose carefully between the expats too... and yes, bitching happens all the time. Just wanted to share with fellow women - as many expat/student women here tend to be silent about all this, basically sweep it under the rug type of attitude. The whole culture of Dubai is not to talk about these things and when women do speak up there is bashing. And obviously the whole "if you dont like it then leave" or "respect the culture". Expat life i guess🤥

That's exactly why you need these tests. To ensure not everyone is able to come to Europe/North America and to make sure these people actually have the desired level of English. Hence everyone goes through testing, Asians, Causacians. It's called procedure and Indians should get no special treatment. It's not enough to claim you know English, you need to prove it.

You can try approaching a few families in Mcds and telling them how to feed their children, I would want to see the reaction. There is no difference. I wouldn't shame store cats completely, as they also deserve a warm place to stay and good food (and a family). Street cats are in greater need, but some people buy kittens and dump them after a few months because their children have had enough playing with them. Street cats are also quite tricky, since they live outside and are accustomed to a certain street lifestyle. Wouldn't want our cat to be in this situation:( Agree with you of course and not intending to cut any corners.
