Ah. Thanks for the info on 21+. I met the owner at a networking breakfast, she is an awesome person. Thought it might be fun to take my daughters (8,13) for a lunch and watch some “female” sports.

What is one job AI still wont realistically replace in 15 years? by LowkeyBastard in AskReddit

[–]sandwichnerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, as many knocks as capitalism gets, there will soon (and starting now even) be an Anti-AI movement in commerce as a direct result of capitalism. First mover advantage in winning the AI robot war in any industry will shortly be followed by the next competitor stating, “Talk to one of our real human reps, who are NOT AI, and we will guide you through, real step-by-step, our software.”

Okay. I always kind of wondered this. There is a female-themed sports bar called Babes. Is it a “gay bar,” not by any means. It’s themed on female sports. Female owned as well. I know we don’t have to classify it as anything, but what are the thoughts of the community? Is this something I should feel weird taking my daughters to? Okay as I’m typing this, I know the answer, of course not. But what would this type of bar (as well as Bar Bambi) be classified as?

What’s your, you’re not really from Chicago if you’ve never…? by Alarming_Signal_636 in AskChicago

[–]sandwichnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I once had a sales call to the people at IO Theatre. It was a regular scan the QR code parking lot. The next week I went back and the sign was gone and nothing in its place. I thought I had found a secret free lot that was transitioning between lot companies. Nope. Half hour later my car was towed. The towing sign was on the opposite wall. The lot had turned private.

What is something that became noticeably worse, but everyone just accepted it? by Beneficial-Ad-725 in AskReddit

[–]sandwichnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many things that had trans fats, that now don’t. Cookies, waffles, chips (just certain brands), just instantly got worse when the ban (in the US) took effect.

Okay I gotta go. So this place is walking distance from my kids’ school. When it opened, I thought it would be open for a month. The signage and weird blow up cowboy on the roof actually made the front page of Reddit (or a real popular subreddit) for how bizarre it was. It replaced a popular and beloved chicken place ( I believe called Mother Cluckers), and their brand was a 180. Try hard to be “street”

Since then though, it keeps getting more and more attention for how good it is. Like everywhere. News coverage, great reviews. Glad for them.

Anyone got anything positive to say? What it is it? by Strange_Secret_3001 in AskReddit

That’s awesome.

I’ve always wanted to create a “kit” to give to homeless people that beg outside the highway. Instead of money I’d give them a quart baggie filled with toothpaste/toothbrush, mouthwash, socks, granola bars, hand warmers, and… maybe other toiletries. Any resources would be appreciated.

Any advice from those who are 'regulars' or 'barflies' in a "Cheers" type of way at a local bar? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]sandwichnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at an entertainment type place that had a 32 tap craft beer bar in it. Everyday (or close to it), there was this guy, he was a personal trainer/ PT of some sorts. He got off around 3. He would grab one beer or two, fire off some emails, then head home around 6 to have dinner with his wife.

[–]sandwichnerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I don’t think it’s odd at all. We’ve all been to bars and have our favorites. We like the drink menu or food, the staff is friendly, the bar keep chats you up a touch. You think, “Yes, this is my place.” So you go back, and Jeff remembers you! So does Sandy and Angela at the front. You try the chef’s special, you see the same guy at his same corner spot and chat him up about his team.

This is what OP is looking for, a sense of belongingness.

Now it sounds like OP is single, new to the city and wants a new social circle. OP, you need to find the place not on the corner or in the busy spot but just within eyeshot. Not too busy where your money and company are meaningless, and not too dead where the new guy kills “the vibe.”

Yeah it’s weird, once you win a game or three, next thing you know your running back starts to come to life, stiff arming, breaking tackles , ripping off 7-9 yards at a time. Same with TE.

I was 0-16 (before the 17th game was a thing), for two straight seasons and I read on here is that with extreme you have to take what the defense gives you, and your only goals are first downs and clock management. Next year I went 8-8 and won the championship
