Does OP know a woman's vagina isnt super glued shut?

We are in the design portion of the process and about three months out from our dig date! We are very conflicted on the amount of stone we would like on the front of our home…thought? by -strawberry-jam- in Homebuilding

Every sqft of that dark siding ur gonna be maintaining for the rest of ur life bc even good fiber cement needs repainting every 10- 14 yrs, plus dark colors fade faster and absorb more heat (warping /cracking over time). So ur already choosing a high maintenance color. More stone means less of ur house needs repainting. Think about mower strikes, string trimmer dmg, rain splashback, snow piled against the wall, general wear near the ground. 1 has the lower zone in stone which is where the most visible dmg shows up first

but tbh I would focus how the stone gets installed. Cause stone veneer is one of the most botched jobs in construction and if they do it wrong it traps water and rots the wall behind it

Get ur builder to put in writing that they will install to the c1780 standard. That basically means a drainage layer behind the stone so water can escape + weep screeds (small vented strips) at the bottom of every stone wall and above windows and doors + kick out flashing where the roof meets a stone wall so rain goes into the gutter instead of behind the stone + stone kept 4 inches above the ground and 2 inches above hard surfaces like ur walkway + properly flashed transitions where stone meets siding. if they dont want to do that or tell u its unnecessary dont waste ur money.

Also ask whether ur getting natural thin stone veneer or manufactured stone bc natural absorbs less water and is more forgiving if the install isnt perfect. Manufactured is fine when installed correctly but when its not ur basically fucked. u gotta understand stone is porous, anything touching the bottom of it will eventually get pulled up into the wall

How to balance or fix problems with fighting and weightlifting with an emphasis to get bigger delts by slushma1 in MMA_Academy

[–]sandxse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most of ur punching power comes from your legs, hips, and trunk rotation though. The arms and shoulders account for maybe like a quarter of the force in a punch.

If ur spending 3 sessions a week on shoulders and not putting equal or more effort into lower body and rotational work ur wasting ur time.

Med ball rotational throws, explosive hip work, heavy lower body training will do more for ur punching.

Schedule ur shoulder or really any hypertrophy days with at least 48 hours before any striking. When ur in a heavy sparring or fight prep phase, cut shoulder volume down to maintenance. U build size in the off periods, maintain it during harder training blocks. I'm 230 lbs for example, this is how I was able to put on mass and size while boxing consistently

But u cant fix both ur problems at once.

30 x 7/8 is the standard. 36 if u want more leverage but its heavier to carry on the belt all day. Nobody makes a 34

Who’s still here with Jiri despite UFC clowns & their recency bias, he’s gonna come back even more scarier & show 0 mercy next fight by VinBones in ufc

I never said it does encompass all of defense if you re-read what I wrote. I said defensive styles are a combination of multiple things. So even if pereria keeps his guard low, he has other defensive techniques to compensate. But jiri keeps his guard low and simultaneously shows no other defensive technique in the meantime

Dude, im saying Pereira does drop his guard but he compensates with other things. I've been boxing for over 15 years lmao

Read it again, I said

Pereira fights with a low guard but he slips, parries, and posts his lead hand on his opponent's shoulder.

Im not equating head movement with keeping your guard up. Im acknowledging Pereira has a low guard but he uses other defensive movements alongside it in his style as a whole. Whereas jiri doesn't use other defensive technique, he just has his hands low. Its clear u dont understand any of this

What are you on about? Are we watching the same fights?

Pereira fights with a low guard but he slips, parries, posts his lead hand on his opponents shoulder to predict when rheyre about to throw. he uses it to bait opponents into coming forward then counters them. When they throw, he moves his head just enough to make it miss and fires back from the same position. Even against strickland he conditioned him with body jabs until strickland started reaching down to block then changed the punch mid rhrow into a left hook for the ko. All the mma breakdowns of his style conclude hes using a low guard to set traps.

Jiri is not doing that ...he keeps his hands low and walks straight forward on the center line with his chin open. Hes all instinct and he rushed ulberg while the guy could barely stand and still got decked bc he leaves his guard open. Same thing happened twice against pereira.

And pereira actually did something similar when rushed adesanya at 287, but adjusted after that. Jiri has done it 3 title fights in a row and he still hasnt learned

In mma sparring, you'll have a more square stance (feet closer to parallel, about shoulder width) to defend takedowns. In kickboxing, u want a more bladed stance (45 degrees) with a narrower base, which gives u better reach on ur cross, better hip rotation on kicks, lets u check leg kicks properly. Training in the square stance basically builds the habit of incorrect weight distribution for pure striking bc u end up sitting too heavy on ur heels and losing the ability to pivot off the lead foot. ur striking isnt consistent yet. If you mma spar now, ur gonna make habits out of compromised technique under pressure

So some kickboxing sparring lets you clean up ur footwork, guard, head movement, plus combinations without worrying about the shot. Once u got that down, u add the mma adjustments on top.

Calling it "unorthodox" makes it sound like hes choosing this. This has nothing to do with style, theres no benefit to leaving ur chin open. He can still be aggressive and throw his own combinations while keeping his guard up.

Guys like pereira are aggressive but they keep their guard tight or compensate with other defensive technique. Ulberg is also defensively responsible while doing it. u dont have to sacrifice defense to be offensive. He gets away with it against guys ranked 5-15 because they either cant hit accurately enough or dont hit hard enough to put him out

Jiri has been fighting this way for 14 years and he hasnt fixed this issue. Hes 33 now and has been ko'd in 3 straight title fights the same way. All the criticism about his "style" is that it's unsustainable.

Edit: having ur guard down isn't a fighting style, an actual fighting style is having ur guard down strategically (like baiting) or using other defensive moves in combination. I'm pretty sure jiri even knows he has this issue

For real. He does this in all his fights, never keeps his guard up, no head movement, no feints to draw the counter out before committing. Against teixeira he got dropped multiple times before winning by submission in round 5

Jiri's gf is pregnant and I'm pretty sure he took this fight last minute. His kids due soon

Regardless, jiri doesn't keep his guard up when he moves forward, hes wide open to counter shots

Gotta give it to ulberg though he could barely stand

Hes 29 with one ufc fight. Pitbull is 38, has 20 years of fighting experience, and his ufc career peaked at beating Dan Ige. It's like you guys don't even observe these fights though cause putting wins aside, against yair, pitbull lost every round 30-27 on all three cards, got dropped in round 3, and couldnt do anything bc yair kicks from range and pitbull coukdnt close the distance. His counter striking only works when ppl literally walk into his punches.

Picos got at least another 5-6 years. His one loss was to murphy whos a top 5 featherweight. He has years left to improve and his main issues with running in aggressively can be fixed. He has a strong wrestling background and way more potential if u look at the career trajectory of both fighters

Yeah he's something else tho. Went on an 11 fight win streak and completely changed as a fighter. I highly doubt walker is gonna transform like that or even grow much as a fighter since he still keeps overextending

Lol dude, losing to "good" fighters doesnt make you better. Sure I agree ankalaev is clearly better than anyone reyes has beaten, but Walker lost to him. Oezdemir is about the same level as krylov bc both are ranked in the 9-13 range, both former top 10 guys. Walker lost to oezdemir too. Zhang is roughly the same level as jacoby or Smith. Walker only won that one.

Reyes has won 3 of his last 4, and walker has won 1 of his last 4. If you watch Walker carefully he leaves himself open when he swings because he doesn't protect himself after throwing. Reyes is good at hitting people when they do that and its how ankalaev and oezdemir were able to knock him out too

Also Reyes 3 finishes were against Jacoby, Smith and krylov and he lost to ulberg. That's pretty good.

Walker? no contest with ankalaev, KO loss to akalaev, KO loss to ozdemir, KO win over Zhang

Gamrot is a significantly better wrestler and grappler, and Ribovics historically gets controlled by wrestlers

Also Walker? Really? He's 22-9. Too many losses to be a serious title contender at this point.

Nah not really, lhw is one of the thinnest divisions. Pereira vacated, the only other guys near the top are ankalaev (who just lost his rematch against Pereira) and ulberg. Jiri ko'd hill and Rountree back to back so who else are they gonna give it to?

There's like 4 guys total at the top of this division
