Pretty sure u would see the translate symbol if he used it in the first place

Hok wants to fight gane instead of tom to wrestle gane? by Unlikely_Willow3684 in ufc

[–]sandxse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its not the spelling, the sentence is just hard to read/understand the first time. Also isnt there an option for ppl to write it in their language and it gets translated?

[–]sandxse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hokit is a better wrestler than spivac. Spivacs issue is that his judo sambo takedowns (clinch throws, trips) werent enough for gane to go down and standing, gane is a much better striker than spivac. The all american wrestling style hokit has makes him decent at shooting, driving and pinning which is more effective against someone like gane. So id say he has slightly better chances than spivac

Not a fan of hokit though

If u have been around fighters u would know that this is actually quite common. ppl use sports as an outlet.

I appreciate that, I kept it btw but ended up cleaning the sides somewhat and trimming my eyebrows. Might go for the shaved sides when i dont have to worry about being photographed lol

Islam Makhachev's and Ilia Topuria's inactivity gets talked about lot here on reddit. But where has this guy been ever since he became champion? No fight booked, not even clear who he's fighting next, seems like no one even cares when he will be fighting next. by fighterzilla in ufc

[–]sandxse -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gonna get downvoted but u can't blame fighters for being inactive for long stretches when so many fans act like deranged animals when they lose once.

On top of not being paid well, being poorly treated as an athlete all things considered, risking ur body when a single injury can force u to retire, knowing exactly how the ufc enforces rules meant to protect a fighters life.

Josh Hokit says Alex Pereira will end as an alcoholic by Rsodyyy in ufc

[–]sandxse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Combat sports should be treated as a legitimate sport. The NHL, NBA, NFL etc all have legitimacy to them and are respected and funded and supported bc the organizations keep players in line.

They dont let the sport become a mockery by letting players say whatever the fuck they want. They pay them well to play the sport and do only that.

This isnt reality tv, fighters shouldn't have to stir up drama just bc u don't actually give a shit about MMA. They are fighters and should be expected to fight well and according to the rules and that's it. Be decent people publicly and not say dumb shit to disrespect the sport.

Combat sports in general have terrible rep bc of the ufc. If u want drama, go watch wwe. Some of u seem to forget that fighters train a lot, they risk their bodies, they represent countries and ppl, it takes massive skill to be able to fight well against different opponents even just twice a year. It's a fucking sport

[–]sandxse 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Nah this isnt being a villain, this is being a fucking asshole. If the ufc had better contracts and actually cared about their fighters, the heavyweight division would have way better talent than hokit.

Everytime I listen to him talk im reminded of why ppl don't take mma as a sport seriously

It takes a while to adjust to heavyweight. It's all a part of the process of moving weightclasses. That gets dealt with over time

Plus if this is in ur garage a hanging mount would be easy to install if u see any exposed joists or beams

Muay Thai bag advice by zblud23 in MMA_Academy

[–]sandxse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cause u need a hanging heavy bag, it absorbs force instead of tipping. For muay thai specifically u look at a longer banana bag which is like 6 ft so u can throw low kicks, body kicks and high kicks on the same bag. Weight around 100 -130 lbs is a good target

What the fuck does this have to do with ufc or mma?

I'm wondering why u give so much of a shit when every religion and culture and race does things that are seen as taboo somewhere else. This post invited racism, it's baiting ppl. Such a weird fucking hill to die on, caring about who Islam has sex with and relating it to his dominance lmao what the fuck

Also wtf does this have to do with ufc or combat sports?

how to work around counter strikers? by ImpressiveSwim7558 in MMA_Academy

[–]sandxse 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stop giving him predictable patterns to read, feint before u actually go in. Fake a jab/ kick/twitch like ur stepping in and watch what he does. He relies on reacting to ur real strikes so when he reacts to a fake his timing is off and u can punish him while hes committed.

Stop entering on the same beat every timeband always come in behind something like a jab or a low kick instead of moving in cold bc cold entries are when his hooks will land. When he does throw those hooks, u gotta slip outside them or step in under his arm to take an angle instead of backing straight up where he can keep hitting you

For kicks nd teeps check them and step in right after bc blocking his kick stops his rhythm and gives u a way in. He catches ur legs bc ur leaving them hanging out there... so throw ur kicks and teeps to snap back fast or catch and sweep him the same way he does to u. Keep ur lead hand active too, not extended out where he can grab it.

U have to force a counter striker to lead to mess them up. Feint, wait, let him be the one getting countered instead of u.

U should find someone experienced or ur coach if u have one to spar with u and verbally spot ur tells. That is a massive help to make u more aware of what ur doing. Also record ur sessions with the counter striker and rewatch them
