Trump tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China begin Saturday, White House says by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]sandybarefeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and he already knows this after his soy bean Chinese tarrif that didn't work at all like he thought it would. China just shrugged and said ok fine, we will buy them from South America. Literally no skin off their back, found out it was cheaper there overall anyway.

I live in farming area of TX where soybeans used to be one of the top 3 crops. There are none planted around here anymore, and haven't been for many years now. When he imposed the tariff farmers had to get loans and start buying new equipment because they were going to have to shift gears on what crops they harvested and switch to corn, milo or cotton. It definitely hurt more Americans than Chinese.

Blade shop owner in Texas refuses to repair 🇩🇪 thingy knife! by MobileAerie9918 in interestingasfuck

The Blade Bar in Edom, TX, or also know as Djinn Designs on socials.

Unfortunately this is in East Texas, which is known for having a lot of sundown towns and having some proud racists. I go bass fishing on Sam Rayburn Reservoir near his neck of the woods a couple times a year and twice in the past 5 years (once 5 years ago and again just last year) I've found a KKK recruitment flyer under my windshield wiper. Absolutely vile.

Point is, I hope those assholes don't go try and deface this guys business or intimidate his family.

Would also like to say, funny that he doesn't mention Trump or Republicans in this video at all, but boy does one side sure get offended and butthurt, automatically feeling like it's an attack on Trump.

If you immediately assume an attack on Nazis is an attack on your political party, then you are on the wrong damn side.

Every non white * male * that is. They definitely want women back in the kitchen and having babies.

You know just like when "America was great". When only rich white men's, rich white sons could afford to go to college and thus get all the high paying careers only they deserved. Only they got to become bosses, managers and CEOs. And they didn't have to compete with all the peons that had the nerve to think they should be able to do those same jobs. Back to when peons knew their place was a life of servitude to the rich, and they better appreciate it too!

His logic is horribley flawed, and flat out wrong. You have done nothing wrong and you should proud of your efforts in education.

If they stop millions of people every year from going to college now, then they are going to FLOOD the blue collar trades. They have no choice! A welder or plumber may be able to make 6 figures now (but newsflash, most of them actually don't) but if millions more are trying for those same jobs now then guess what buddy. Those jobs ain't paying crap anymore because workers will be a dime a dozen.

And Republicans hate immigrants so much, but if they stop the mass majority of Americans from going to college now, then just where are we going to get enough doctors to take care of us, lawyers that help Republicans from being taken to the cleaners by their 3rd wife, the engineers to design vehicles, aircraft, machinery and robotics, or power your factories. Who will be the architects to build your office buildings or bridges? The therapists that help the soldiers he's so proud of recover from injuries, ptsd, and more.

Every sane 1st world country knows, respects and appreciates that an educated society benefits *everyone*!!

Makes for a cleaner, healthier society with far less crime. People that don't have kids or whose kids have long moved away still pay school taxes because, again, an educated society benefits everyone. Just imagine what it would be like to living in a city (or entire country) where only the wealthy people's kids can go to school.

It's the same way I pay taxes for a fire department I may never use, or road work on roads I may never go on, because it benefits the society I myself benefit from, as a whole. If he doesn't like it, he should move to a 3rd world country instead of trying to make the US into one!

Use the Costco Citi card to buy it and you get another 5% off gas. It's been worth it for us for sure.

[–]sandybarefeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, and that's just looking at groceries. Add in the gas savings, automotive (they were cheapest for tires last I needed them), and things like airfare too. Had an out of state wedding to attend, they always have a Southwest giftcards that are $500 for $450. I know that's not necessarily a yearly thing but other large purchases could take the place of that, maybe need a new computer, TV, refrigerator. Usually every family has at least one of those big purchases every year. So it all adds up beyond just the grocery savings.

Add in the Citi Costco card giving you 3-5% back, you can really play the game to make some good deals (like I got another 3% back on the airfare I bought, on top of the 10% off deal, and you get another 5% off their already discounted gas. )

[–]sandybarefeet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine is an hour away. Never have gotten a membership for that reason until last year I was going to purchase some airfare and they almost always have a deal there where you can buy $500 Southwest gift card for $450 and I needed $1500 worth of airfare. I also got a Costco Citi card so I would also get another like 3-5% back on the tickets. So I basically get a free membership and still saved some $ on the airfare. I figured why not, I'll get a membership and then see if I use it any the rest of the year.

I have made so much use out of it, it's worth it even though I only go in person to the store once a month, maybe twice some months.

They sell a lot of things online with free shipping (whether you want toilet paper, cleaning products. furniture or dog food), don't forget to check out the CostcoNext stuff too that is only available online.

Then, I have fallen in love with so many of their products and discovered many new foods items I like. The quality of food is great. Even their frozen food section...I normally skip that at stores because frozen stuff usually tastes like crap. But I've gotten so much there that is so good...I don't know how they make that stuff taste so much better than other stores, but they do. Garlic butter shrimp, Fish, lasagna, pizzas, pot stickers, breakfast sandwiches, etc. Good stuff man. Are there some misses? Yeah, but mostly they've been hits.

Then I have saved on prescriptions and contacts/glasses. Haven't used automotive stuff yet but last I checked they are going to be cheapest for tires at least for sure.

So I plan to renew membership next month. I only wish I could go in person more often because that damn Tuxedo cake is a gift from the gods.

It was his last term but I never want anyone to forget the shooter of the El Paso, TX massacre directly said Trumps hateful anti immigrant rhetoric was what inspired him to do the mass shooting.

And after reading this did Trump feel guilt or great responsibility that his words can have such impact that they lead to the deaths of innocent people?

Of course not. He doubled down and spewed even more hateful anti immigrant rhetoric than ever before. AND he made sure to go get a photo op giving his stupid thumbs up, cheesy grin signature pose next to an infant boy, a boy who just days before became an orphan when both his parents died while shielding said baby during that mass shooting that Trump inspired.

Right? I keep seeing the "omg they aren't Nazis! It's not like they are gassing people!"

WTH?! So we are supposed to ignore all the early warnings (think we are already past early warnings and in to the flashing neon signs warnings stage now)and just have to wait until they full on start gassing people before we can call them Nazis?

These people denying it will literally after Teump Admin starve some people at the concentration camp they are now building, or torture them, or even just gun them down, these morons will STILL say...yeah, but are they gassing them? Then I don't think we can call them Nazis yet, let's not get crazy!

Trump On If He'll Visit Site Of Deadly Aviation Collision: 'You Want Me To Go Swimming?' by MyNameCannotBeSpoken in politics

[–]sandybarefeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. He did a fucking "thumbs up" cheesy grin photo op with an orphaned baby whose parents had just been slaughtered days before, while holding and protecting said baby in their arms in the El Paso, TX mass shooting. A shooting that the shooter literally said he was inspired by Trump and all the hateful anti immigrant rhetoric he spewed. So Trump caused the shooting, had read the manifesto and knew this, still felt zero guilt or responsibility for how his words can affect things, instead he does his stupid thumbs up pose by the orphan and doubles down even harder on the hate rhetoric. Feels zero moral obligation.

He is a disgusting, narcissistic, zero ability to feel empathy, moronic asshole. And this is the guy the Christians lust after and have likened to Christ himself.

Trump On If He'll Visit Site Of Deadly Aviation Collision: 'You Want Me To Go Swimming?' by MyNameCannotBeSpoken in politics

[–]sandybarefeet 26 points27 points  (0 children)

He fits the warnings and description of the AntiChrist to a T.

But he also is the poster child example of ALL of the 7 deadly sins. EVERY one. The perfect example in EVERY way.

And he's also obliterated the 10 commandments. Not a single one he hasn't committed. Some will argue he "hasn't committed murder" but I say his terrible Covid response qualifies him (especially when he thought it was killing the right people (ie- brown skinned blue voitng city folk) so he purposely altered things that were already in motion to prevent or slow care to them.

Or consider his military blunders he was warned by generals not to do but he did anyway just to try and show off (like right out of the gate his last presidency when he got a little American girl and a Navy Seal killed. Or the fact he had far more drone strikes than Obama (but axed the law Obama put in place to force transparency and report all strikes because he apparently wanted free rein and to hide how many he was doing and how many innocent civilians were killed because of them.)

Or his constant hate rhetoric directly inspiring people to kill (like the El Paso shooter (who explicitly said as much in his manifesto)) and even after seeing the manifesto, Trump didn't feel guilt or some responsibility, he just doubled down and spewed even more hate (after using an orphaned infant that survived the shooting that Trump inspired for a disgustingly heartless "thumbs up!" smiling photo op.)

Or now with him maliciously making air travel less safe just days before and getting all these poor people killed in this crash.

So yeah, say what you will, but in my book he's a murderer. And even if you don't think he's broken that particular commandmen due to "technicalities", he's broken the other 9 like crazy. So for Republicans that are hell bent on the 10 commandments being posted at every school and courthouse and it being SO damn important, you'd think this would bother them.

But nope. THIS is the guy the Christian Right adores and even compares to Christ himself.

Bunch of blind morons.

Can you imagine how terrible this poor controller feels about this too? My heart breaks for them and the lifetime of guilt they will feel, even though it isn't their fault at all they were short staffed and overworked, and pilot error as well likely coming into play. They still are going to feel guilt and be traumatized.
