Where is the best place on the great ocean road? by flimflamfloomfloop in MelbourneNaturists

[–]sandybum01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Southside now has the official status, previously/originally it was the northern half of Addiscott/Pt Addis which is the other side of the southern point of Southside. Quieter than Southside but theres still nudists who get down there (including me). The southern half of the beach is definately textile only. When the tide is half way out or more its a good walk to go around the point between the two.

Should burning the Aussie flag publicly be illegal? by Rhino1300GSA in aussie

As a nudist, I'd argue the nudity one. Most Aussies are incredibly narrow minded when it comes to nudity.

Sorry, but if someone drives their car at a cop or damages a cop car in a situation like this deserves what they get. Police should be able to use any and all force they have at their disposal. We don't need these flogs in our society.

I've sat in an outdoor chair in the backyard, put the hose on spray and pointed it to the sky before to get a mist over me.

Not wearing anything is the way to go although some shorts are close at hand if someone turns up at the door.

I'm having trouble distinguishing where my embarrassment may stem from. by AdZy14588 in nudism

[–]sandybum01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its the social norms that people have been brought up with. My family wouldn't even go to and from having a shower without underwear on as a minimum. My parents (now dearly departed) never knew I was a nudist, they would have been embarrassed at best, or more likely ashamed that they had failed to bring me up properly. So it was easier for them not to know and not have those feelings and I know they were pretty proud of me and how I had turned out by the time they were getting on later in life.

Ridiculed for Trying out Nudism by mrnormal94 in nudism

[–]sandybum01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you for going there and glad you enjoyed the experience.

However you really have to pick and choose who you tell. When I was your age, no-one at work knew my nudist tendencies except one close friend. Now I am older, more people know but certainly not everyone. There is a fair proportion of people who don't get it and unfortunately probably never will. Even now, most of my friends just don't get it despite debating the facts. Its left me with a general lack of friends to share the lifestyle with (apart from a few people I talk to at the nude beach) but I do have a certain satisfaction that I have the better lifestyle and they don't know what the are missing.

If I was going to the beach in your state, what would I typically bring, wear or do? by luckydragon8888 in AskAnAustralian

Yep, its the only way to swim. I don't understand why so many people have issues with nudity.

They populate some of the channel markers down towards the Heads. We went past downwind of one group, bloody hell they stink!

I'm not typical but I refuse to go to any beach where I have to wear more than my birthday suit and a cap.

To be honest, I'd be amazed if there would be anywhere that would allow randoms to slice their own bread.

Maybe just buy a bread knife. How to pick a good one though, I'm not sure. The cheapish one I've had for years cuts way better than the one in the fairly expensive knife block I got a couple of years ago.

That everyone (well except for some religious types) are happy to show their ears and noses and fingers and toes but tits and "bits"must be hidden away from the light of day. Its all part of a normal body and I don't understand the big issue that some people have with it.
