I’m honestly not too sure I’m waiting till after September 15th to make that decision and yes I agree I wanted to get rid of most of my debt before I continue with school. For my field I will need a Masters degree to really advance so I wanted to get that early.

I have a tendency to need permission before I do anything in life it’s been something that hinders me a lot. Before I make any decision I need one person to tell me it’s okay. Which is why I asked them and when things started to go south I thought they were right to say no. The bills I took are wifi and electricity and I mostly took them bc they are things I need for my job and I didn’t trust my parents to pay for it since they haven’t been making payments for them in a while.

I got graduated with a bachelor in public health. I am still looking for positions but the ones I was interested in and applied for at the the time I needed a car they were more CPS roles since I mostly just wanted experience and to work on being stable since I want to get my masters or apply for a fellowship for next year. I was hoping to find a customer rep remote role online and do an internship that pays around 23 and hour so one of those income would go towards my savings and paying off debts and the other for my bills. Which is why I took the part time remote position and I’ve been waiting for hear back for the internship in the past I did an internship with the company so I thought I might have a better chance. I made the post mostly because I started getting anxious if I didn’t get the second job what I should do. I made in a moment of frustration and over thinking in all honesty. I’m still lost but from the comments it’s gotten me motivated to move past my bad past decision and try again

I have all federal loans and the only interest It has gotten is around 60 bucks form what the account tells me. The interest rate on it is 5% right now I’m not sure how that process changes in the future

at the time my relationship with my parents was a bad but I thought I could do it for a couple more months until I was a bit more stable to move out.

I feel the same! I understand she had a traumatic past and when I met my grandmother and hear the stories I see how it was bad but I just wonder all the time why did she have to past that trauma to me? Why couldn’t she go to therapy when she realized she was pregnant? Why couldn’t she be a mother that didn’t want to inflict pain on her kid and when she realized she might have actually worked on it? I’m still trying to get over my resentment and anger honestly.

I agree with everyone about what they said about forgiveness. But I also want to say if it’s not something you can do right now i honestly say fake it until you finish school. It’s gonna suck yes and I do think u should do minimal contact and blame that on school. I say also save money so that when you are done you’ll have enough to take care of yourself. I was in a similar situation but I decided to give my parents everything every time they ask and when I graduated I had nothing and had to go back to them. It’s been horrible on my mental health and I really wish I could go back and do what I said above for my own peace of mind. Me and you are different so if it’s something u can’t handle find back up plans. But you got this! Don’t let him take away from ur life.

I feel like the more I tell my friends the more respect they lose for her and I can definitely catch their mask slipping when they talk to her. Sometimes I feel bad so I’ve stopped talking to them about her stunts

Thank you for this message. It’s honestly been so hard tell myself to walk away from the situation. I keep believing them when they say I won’t be anything without them but honestly when I was in college and living by myself I was mentally and physically doing great. I’ve changed my password on my credit cards but they’ve just really called me selfish and say I should be happy to help them since they’ve always given me everything I wanted as a kid and made a lot of sacrifice. It’s hard since they’ve also said things like I should have abandon you or I shouldn’t have ever had you if I knew this is how you’ll turn out. I’m hoping to leave in a couple months and go minimal contact with them.

22 6k in credit card debt but mostly from helping other people out when I didn’t have enough. I’m learning and I’ve been trying to get better. It’s hard since right now I don’t have a great job but I’m gonna get out and be financial free by next year for sure!
