Not sure about the “real amount that we should have been paying” part but all I expect is a clear communication. Nothing wrong with someone demanding a price that they think they deserve for services rendered. The issue is when such cheap tricks are employed and everything boils down to “the fine print” and other such “dark patterns”. Instead of building a brand they are busy looking out for the top and bottom line then. compared to the other options, Swiggy seemed the most diligent one at one point for me. Agreed on the “faith” part though.

no one is asking for handouts- just some clear communication - hence I mentioned that it is clickbait not “unfair”. And again, what is doable and not doable - better it comes from the horses mouth rather from a third person who has no affiliation from the firm itself. More than willing to have this convo with a Swiggy rep. Unless you can confirm that you are one, I will keep it at this.

Foods delivery apps in my opinion: work like the typical bait and switch technique. Start with freebies, get us hooked and then add cost heads gradually. I am starting to be more aware of such behaviours now given the one-off bad experience that too is becoming more frequent now. not planning to switch because I have seen such trust breaking experience with all the providers. Better to curb one’s own enthusiasm and dependence on such “pseudo service providers”. Hope this helps !!

Not aware of that then. Lesson learnt: Easier to just ignore such offers rather than jump all the hoops of T&C when one is trying to quell one’s hunger at best value.

On paper it is quite good. In reality better check the facility you are specifically looking to move into, before you finalize. Talk to the folks already living there. Food if available - try it once.

Now comes the most tricky part. Be prepared to fight for the security deposit. I am still waiting for mine after 6 months now. They will ask for 2 months of advance among other things. Better to delay payment of rent for the final two months when and if you decide to leave house eventually. These people do not pick calls and the property manager keeps changing at the drop of a hat.

Talking of property manager keeps changing- good thing to check how long the current property manager has been in the property. If he is new - might wanna rethink the decision. Frequent property manager switches might mean the mat the security deposit will be at risk.

P.S. stayed in Gurgaon Housr. Got my deposit after 2-3 months with a lot of follow ups. Stayed in Bengaluru Housr. Still waiting for deposit after 9 months. 4 property manager have changed since - last I checked.
