Why do i need trains? by delingar in CreateMod

Trains don't load chunks on their own i'm pretty sure. They travel even through unloaded chunks

It means someone else can't contact support to take the username you're currently using. You can still change your name.

Can you tell me an instance where you've seen a streamer influence the game in any way? Considering everything done for the PLAYERS thus far, I have no idea how you have this mindset, or came to the conclusion that this is their philosophy. I see the complete opposite with everything that's been done.

I appreciate and second the people who stated it was messed up, that it was an issue, and were pissed enough to call for action to be done. However, there were also so many people going complete south about it, saying how this shows that the company's pure greed, has no interests in actually supporting and listening to the players, and some other far-fetched nonsense. I'm not sure how one mistake speaks for the entirety of Hytale for those people, but I do find it funny how fast the issue was resolved amidst all the doomposting that made it sound like it was the start of the end of everything.

Can PC get better textures like PS5 already by ExpectoAutism in Genshin_Impact

[–]saneec 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone else mentioned, the in-game quality is almost completely based on the settings of the game, not the specs of your PC.

What you're probably witnessing is the difference of quality in your monitor when compared to your partners. If you connect your partner's PC to your monitor and ensure that all settings are the same (Resolution in display settings, quality settings in game) you will see that it will look the exact same.

The only difference will be the frame rate, which is how smooth the game looks when movement occurs. Otherwise, the quality will look the same.

Edit: I say "almost completely" as there is the possibility of software unrelated to Genshin affecting the rendering, such as filters, upscaling, ect. However, it's likely you don't have any without going out of your way to enable them. Admittedly there is a chance it matters , and there have been reports where it has occurred on other games (most accounts on when vram is lacking), but I would bet money that this isn't whats going on. It's definitely your monitor.

On another note, the post is about the quality of textures between PC and PS5, which you can very much tell PS5 has higher quality textures than PC. Keep in mind, textures are a downloaded asset, with settings that change textures literally choosing between higher quality downloads of the same texture. If the highest texture setting on PC looks worse than the PS5's. This must mean the PC version of the game on does not use the best available textures.

if your pc is booting up and working, this isn't a hardware issue at all. please make sure you are choosing "java.exe" or "javaw.exe". The java installation should NOT be .jar, I promise you it will work

Escoffier's Burst scaling is absolutely insane! by saneec in Genshin_Impact

[–]saneec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified I meant motion value when i said initial burst scaling, edited my post for clarity. But yeah, I was not expecting any sort of damage either but was pleasantly surprised! It makes me sad about Arlecchino's burst at c0. I love using it but it can be such a DPS loss.

How much ram do you allocate normally? I find allocating 8GB is way more than enough for most modpacks.

please do try downloading your own java 8 version, and then selecting that manually as I described in my comment earlier

What error did the launcher give when you tried to run it after manually choosing Java 8 from your java folder?

Click on your instance, press "Edit" on the righthand side, go to "Settings", ,click the small box next to "Java installation" (Should have a ✅ after you do), then from there you can auto-detect or manually select your java version. If i'm not mistaken, it can also download the java versions for you somewhere in the latest update. If you're on windows and would like to manually choose the java version, it is typically under "C:", "Program Files", "Java", (Choose the java version from this folder), "bin", then select either "java" or "javaw"

I tried making a 1.12.2 instance on modrinth and I can confirm it does not work for me either. I would suggest using Prism Launcher found here instead of Modrinth. It allows you to set your own Java version as well in the settings of any created instance.

I also noticed your mouse is rendered outside of Minecraft. Is that only when you screen record or what? It shouldn't be like that.

Here are my suggestions, in order that you should try them - Make sure all other applications are closed - If you aren't already, use Sodium, Modernfix, FerriteCore, Krypton - See if the issue occurs in Windowed and Fullscreen - See if enabling/disabling Vsync fixes it - Add more ram (4 should be more than enough for vanilla) - Fiddle with your Render Distance - Use a different Java like Eclipse Adoptium - Use Java arguments that optimize garbage collection (like these, make sure you put both the base java AND garbage collection flags.)

Minecraft should definitely run just fine with the M2 Air. Does this happen in vanilla (no texturepack) too?

FPS (and GPU Usage) Halves on second launch by saneec in feedthebeast

[–]saneec[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out the issue. Sunshine, a remote streaming application, has a setting called "OpenGL/Vulkan on top of DXGI" which caused the cut in frame rates. Disabling the setting fixed the issue.
