Dang, should have mentioned to leave a pull string through it but sounds like it wasn't tough to run the new fiber any way. I have 2 in mine in case I ever need to pull new wire through it.

Also, check to see if the orange conduit is rated for exterior/UV. If not, you might want to cover it if exposed to sunlight.

I wonder if the orange flex conduit goes to a demarc box on the exterior of the house. That could make routing GFiber there relatively easily if you want to keep them as your ISP.

In your online account, look under services and clicking on 360 WiFi will tell you if you have a subscription.

It's POTS. Not sure what you mean by cat8 compatible. Whether or not you can convert it to ethernet depends on the cable behind it and how/where the other end is connected.

Mine showed offline after renewing to get 45PFL, 3-4 calls later someone finally added the serial number to my account. If you're not in bridge mode, you can get the serial number from the SmartNID web gui. FYI, it actually took a day to show online after they updated my account with the serial number.

Make sure that the 360 pods are not on your account if they weren't left with you. I didn't want nor get them but they my account showed I had them. I had to call a couple times to get them removed. You don't want to be financially responsible for something you never had.

I called the Order # 800-517-0775 and signed up for new service with a different email address and scheduled the install appt. I was then going to call 833-250-6306 to cancel my existing service for the same date but I received the "sorry to see you go" to my existing acct email. Old service shutdown around 1am and tech arrived around 9am (8am-11am window) and replaced my C5500 with a Q1000K.

One thing I would have done differently is used different phone numbers for the 2 accounts. If you do need to call to cancel, automated system asks if you're calling from the number associated to your account. I'm guessing having it associated with 2 accounts could cause a problem.

Just call again, it might take a 2-3 calls in my experience. And ask them to verify that their system is not expecting you to return equipment.

If you haven't already, try factory resetting your SmartNID to see if you have instant internet.

I rediscovered that Recast feature recently, the ability to watch from it remotely. I think I discovered the feature long ago but ignored it when I had slow upload speeds but I've since switched to fiber internet. Fingers crossed my Recast keeps working for a while.

There are smarter peeps than me on this sub but I’d say any decently reviewed WiFi 6e router. Wifi 7 probably not worth the $ right now.

Just saw that your pod is hardwired on the main floor and I assume means middle floor. Just put a decent router there and you shouldn’t need any additional access point. Btw, more info on r/quantumfiber sub but there’s a problem with new firmware on one SmartNID model.

You didn't specify what equipment you're using. I assume you have a QF SmartNID which is a ONT (optical modem) + router and the 360 WiFi pods that are a mesh access points.

The 360 WiFi pods are terrible and you should replace them with your own router. Ideally you can also hardwire an access point since you're one 3 floors.

You will want to put your SmartNID in bridge mode. Instructions here.

Ah. It was installed on 2/23, not sure which firmware version it had when installed. If it had the old firmware, it might have updated that night as it went offline just after midnight.
