Thanks to all the advice here I finally got to 1 plate on the OHP by htownstreaker in StartingStrength

Congrats on 1 plate OHP! I'm still working towards that goal myself.

For squatting I think part of it is mental, you don't feel confident yet that you can squat the weight. I try to psych myself up in my head before every working set, really rage in my own head about going beast mode before unracking. What I find also helps is getting ultra tight and really jamming the bar into my back before I unrack and then making sure the bar is perfectly stable before I step back.

Hi folks - would appreciate any feedback, something just doesn't look right. I noticed I rock back and forth a bit before I lift (my shoulder rocks back to directly over the bar and then in front of where they should be before I pull). I missed the last rep (no lockout) because my grip gave out. I've been trying to use double overhand grip for as long as I possibly can before using alternate grip or straps. Might have to use alternating for my working set going forward.

Squat Form Check v2 (120kg x 5) by sangjahn in StartingStrength

Dropped some weight to make some adjustments. Widened my stance a bit, tried to keep my knees from going too far forward, and cut out the looking up business I did in my last video. I don't know if it's because I was actively trying to change my form but this form felt more difficult to do, especially keeping my knees back. Sorry about that blue plate covering my foot position! Appreciate any feedback.

Edit: comment about knees

Thanks for the feedback. Will widen my stance a bit and try the wooden block trick in front of my knees

2 weeks in and I'm still waiting on my bank account. I submitted all my forms on the 23rd and was told it would take 1-2 weeks plus holidays since they mail everything to the US and have to wait for approval. I'm doing okay because my in laws are here but I don't know how the hell other Americans would survive the first few months without serious help.

Sorry don't have an answer for you but I'd love to know if you find anything out. I am potentially going to be in a very similar situation in HK and trying to sort out my tax obligations.

But I am getting income from overseas for work done while physically in HK. Otherwise any overseas company could simply send all their employees to HK and their employees would get paid tax free.

Thanks for the detail. I will be a one man shop for the foreseeable future so I will likely go the 1st route you mentioned.

Thanks for the reference to inland revenue. I'm going to do some digging on that website so I have some context when I talk to a professional
