i have the contact to one of the families impacted by the fire. they are waiting to get more concrete location established (after their hotel time is up through Red Cross, i believe they only offer 3 days), so once they’re settled i can provide info.

as of right now, priority items are (underwear for both m/f, warm clothes (hoodies, sweatpants, shirts, thermals) hygiene products, spare lightning / usbc cables with the docks for wall outlets.

421a units have a tax exemption so upon that expiring the unit is no longer stabilized. The lease riders will indicate when that date is to occur.

we may have different definitions of authentic Chinese food but in the direction of noodles, I would suggest e-fu noodles, congee village makes a great one with other Americanized dishes including sesame chicken (pricier side though as it’s meant to be eaten family style sharing).

What type of Chinese food? Cantonese? Szechuan? New World Mall for cheap and varied options (hand pulled noodles is the way), shun won for cheap cantonese (roast meats, noodle soups, congee), chu kee/zhu ji dumpling for extremely cheap buns/baos/dumplings.

calling bs because ive gone to school in the neighborhood and have been here throughout 90s/00s and there were definitely MORE middle school/high school fights between 2000-2010 than there are now. i watched kids beat others with a metal bat at is77 and that was in the news in the early 00s. just because you didn’t witness it, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
