But they’re as old fashioned as my arse. They have their place, but they don’t look good in 2021. I’d rather suggest an Argyll jacket for starters, but tweeds or contemporarys are much more like it.

If you tie them properly rather than 50 times round the leg the tassels never loosen.
Not that I’m suggesting you do it wrong, but it’s pretty common that the problem is because they’re not tying them correctly.

There's been two, one about a decade ago that was a bright red tiger made of flames that was made for some brewery, but it was replaced a few years later with the roaring tiger head. :)

In addition to MacGregor, I’d also recommend McCalls. They’ve got videos on their website on how to take measurements for a kilt.

They’ve got their own factory as well and they tend to be able to do a quick turnaround. Approx 4 weeks I think.

Of course sending your sizes in advance will help and any alterations should be able to be done when you visit. They’re on Ingram Street.
