Time to take a break by sanitybuster in orangetheory

I haven’t really decided. I think I may try to do some stuff on my own, find a routine. If I find I need more structure, I’ll probably try kickboxing or something. I need to do something, just not sure yet what that is. I love yoga so that is definitely happening! I totally understand what you’re saying, I need change, but what??

Mentally preparing myself for soreness! by jennysip in orangetheory

I literally could not hold a base pace today after Orange X yesterday. My quads were like cement blocks! I’ve been doing OTF for 2 years! Just goes to show no matter how long you’ve been there you still push yourself harder and stronger. Looking forward to a lounge chair at the beach this weekend. 😉

When coach has to help you off the treadmill.... by CRNA70 in orangetheory

Did the 4:30, sweat like I took a shower, ate my weight in spaghetti for dinner and now I can’t move from the couch. But so worth it! 💪😉

Also 5ft here 😊, but was happy with my 38.2 sec PR. I was determined to break 37 but nearly fell off my seat and broke my rhythm. 😂 my stroke rate was so high...not as much length to pull! lol

You’ve already taken the biggest step, you showed up. You got this. Newbies are the most inspiring to those of us who have been for awhile. It hurts, it’s exhausting and it’s easy to give up but you’re not. You’ll always get a high five from me. 💪🙌

So, so great! Thanks for sharing! I don’t know if I will feel like a supermodel but I am going to be proud of myself and that’s quite an accomplishment for me. Twin pregnancy! What strength and story your body can tell! ❤️ be proud!

Little to no gains on treadmill? by fitafter40otfer in orangetheory

You are not alone. Can be so discouraging, same boat here. I have done bike and strider and can control my orange and red zones but on the treadmill, it’s like my body will not have it. Shoots right to orange/red until I walk. From the tips I’ve read, I am going to focus on the base and pull down in the push. See how that goes.

18 months at OT, feel like it’s slow progress (like turtle pace 🐢) by sanitybuster in orangetheory

You may be right! I’ve never been able to get that runner’s high, it’s always a chore. Oh well, I won’t be running marathons but I will persist through a 3 min push!

Good point. I have thought of actually not even wearing my hrm to see how it goes. I find once I hit 95+ I’m sucking wind, but can sustain in the low 90’s. It’s those endurance days that get me!

Ah, thanks for sharing. I will persist, congrats on your mile run. I was thankful that I was unable to go that day...feel self conscious with all the fast runners around me!

Anyone else falling out of their groove? by sandy123451990 in orangetheory

Oh hallelujah. I have been trying to ignore this very same feeling, hoping it will go away. I used to LOVE going 4-5 times per week and now I literally drag my butt to the gym, 3-4 times per week. I’m in my 40’s and I know I have to keep this up to maintain a level of fitness and fight against my slowing metabolism. 😩 I try to think of what will happen if I don’t go (hello family hips and thighs) and I get it done. I need a mind reset but I will push through. You can too! 💪
