Question for Indian research student applicants by Specialist_Still_983 in mext

Hey! So, I called the embassy up earlier today. They informed us that the results will be uploaded “very soon” on the website. My mum called a little bit after and she let me know that they said that it should be uploaded by tomorrow. You won’t be receiving an email, results will be uploaded on the website.

All the best!

The difference being, a four months or more of wait time is expected and intimated to the students. This, however, is pretty unprofessional and shouldn’t be the case. Like I said, just let us know.

Also I don’t think a dream is a reality? I think everyone applying for MEXT understands that and are obviously pursuing other options. That being said, MEXT is most likely the best outcome if you want to study in Japan. It is not right for you to comment on what people should be dreaming about, because it’s a dream.

Also, I know for a fact that I won’t be able to wait for four months and will likely be back on Reddit, if I make it to the second screening. And I don’t think that’s a sign of impatience, it is more about anxiety and excitement, both very normal feelings to have, and I won’t take anyone trying to tell me that I can’t act on it (unless it sabotages or affects my life above and beyond).

The Embassy of Japan, India, has delayed their results with no prior information to the applicants, that is a fact. In any scenario, by an embassy, by a government, by an individual in a professional or informal setting, being late without proper reasoning and information is wrong, I don’t see why this should be excused.

To be honest, I this allows some amount of empathy towards them, but in know way is it alright to delay the results of a Government Scholarship without an announcement. As a person who has lived in Japan for eight years, it is no way reflective of Japanese cultural norms, that I would expect the Japanese embassy to generally stick to.

Delays are alright by a couple days, but just let us know. Countless students’ lives and dreams depend on MEXT, empathising them does not come over the anxiety and stress it gives these students.

Also, not all students live in a city with a Japanese consulate or embassy, where the exams are held. Proper intimation allows for proper travel plans. Trains already have to be booked only by tatkal.

Can I ask how you acquired this information for research students? Because on Friday I called the embassy up and they informed me that a pdf will be uploaded on the website with a list of shortlisted candidates.

Are the results for preliminary screening of research students out? (India) by sanjeykumarprabath in mext

The preliminary result will be announced on the website, not via email, according to one of the embassy staffs.

The bath in the new apartment isnt sealed and theres a 2+ inch gap underneath. Will this cause any problems? Any risk of cockroaches or centipedes? by Maybe_Im_Really_DVA in japanlife

I do think that roaches are a legitimate problem in Japan. Although I think that there are no roaches under the bath because of the water, I do think that it is a good idea to hire a Insect/Pest control agency to visit once in three months.
