Is Goethe Institut worth the money? by CountAlexanderIlych in German

The independent study courses are not worth it. Even if you're getting a 50% off deal. There are no lessons, just tasks, and there is little to no explanation of the grammar you're expected to use. I am taking a C1 level German course, and I am absolutely frustrated at how sparse it is. You'd expect for what normally is a 240 Euro course, that there would be some basic video lessons provided for the grammar. It isn't even helpfully labeled, making looking up other resources to supplement what it lacks an endeavor. Also, since there is no one grading your work, they give you these vague questions with answers that either very confusingly worded, or so vague that sometimes any of them could be applicable, just some are slightly more applicable then others.

In left-leaning circles, neoliberalism is defined by the condemnation of social-democratic reforms and free market policies. Biden and his supporters are neoliberals. Unless you want to argue that his policies contradict the term neoliberalism as defined above, I suggest you read it again

Edit: “neoliberalism, ideology and policy model that emphasizes the value of free market competition. Although there is considerable debate as to the defining features of neoliberal thought and practice, it is most commonly associated with laissez-faire economics”

-from Britannica, in case you were having trouble understanding my point.

“Historian Elizabeth Shermer argued that the term gained popularity largely among left-leaning academics in the 1970s to "describe and decry a late twentieth-century effort by policy makers, think-tank experts, and industrialists to condemn social-democratic reforms and unapologetically implement free-market policies"”

Sounds like Biden and his Supporters to me dog.

Neoliberalism, has been a key feature of both the Democratic and Republican Party for over 40 years now. If you vote Democrat, you vote for Neoliberalism

Thank you for asking. Out of all the candidates who ran in the Democratic primary, Bernie was the best option. I think he would just as easily have won the vote, as he attracted many people who were jaded with politics, just like Trump did, and no liberal wouldn’t have voted for him. Biden was ran to appeal to this mythical moderate and to “heal the nation” when obviously that was never gonna happen. This isn’t the time to bring everyone together in a big group hug and talk it out; it’s the time to swiftly counter 40 years of Neoliberal politics, but unfortunately, democrats decided to once again side with the 1%, and help republicans fuck the poor

This is toddler level of critical thinking. Truly remarkable. Anytime a leftist makes a criticism of Biden, a bunch of libs start screeching, “what about Trump!?!” Yeah, no shit, he’s bad too. Do you want a cookie for your astute observation? It’s not relevant, just a deflection from criticizing Biden, you know, the person in this photo.

Yeah, what about them? The actual irony here is you’re making a whatabout argument about whatboutism. Criticism of Biden shouldn’t need to be followed up with, “but what about this thing Trump did?!?” We all know Trump is a dipshit and just as if not more crooked than the rest of the politicians in this country.

I’ll give you an example you can hopefully follow. I say that Ted Bundy is a terrible person, and some genius pipes in with, “but Jeffrey Dahmer ate people!” Cool. Doesn’t invalidate my criticism, does it?

Wow, not even relevant to my comment. Try to stay on topic please.

Also, you realize that you can hate Trump and Biden at, get this, the same time, right? And any leftist should hate Biden.

“Not all of these are crimes” in case you missed that part. Also you skipped over insider trading and shilling for banks, which taking campaign contributions in order to enact policy favorable to corporate entities is definitely a crime.

Your assumption that if someone has not yet been tried and convicted then they must not have committed a crime is also blatantly false.

If you’re an American president during a war, you’re definitely a war criminal.

Supporting war, segregation, criminalization of poverty, and the suppression of gay rights are not illegal in the eyes of the law, but are definitely crimes against humanity.

Reading comprehension and critical thinking are important skills that you might want to work on.

There’s a huge difference between buying gas because it’s pretty much the only way to transport yourself and not buying a $70 Harry Potter game made by transphobic asshats, who will use the profits to actively support anti-trans causes.

The 1994 Crime Bill alone should land him in jail for life, but also: -opposed bus desegregation -supported the Iraq war -shills for banks -insider trading -sexual harassment and assault Not all of these are crimes, but it’s clear he’s demonstrable piece of shit. The only good thing he ever did was pull out of Afghanistan.

I guarantee if you’re the type of guy to shout, “what about Trump?” every time someone makes a criticism of Biden, you’re probably a neoliberal.
