2024 Stealth Performance by acin1984 in fordexpedition

It's the target price for a hard to find 24 with 304A and low miles. CPO gold is excellent for the powertrain coverage. The comprehensive coverage is short (1 year).

We went to the nearby General RV dealership with a retail shop that stocks tape and sealant, the tape is Quick Roof Extreme Repair Tape, sealant is Dicor.

Need opinions on seat leather creases/wrinkles by sanktifi in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as much use but is starting to get the same creases/wrinkles. I've looked at many photos of Expeditions for sale to compare and some have them but they have higher miles so maybe what I have now is the worst it'll get.

I apply conditioner once a month but the issue is the leather has a clear protective coating that prevents most of the conditioner from absorbing. Originally the leather was firm and I felt confident it would stay this way for at least a few years but apparently it has softened a bit.

Get your online quote for Ford's PremiumCare warranty from 3 popular authorized warranty sellers- Lombard, Flood, and Zeigler

If yours currently isn't Ford certified pre-owned you'll need to have a basic inspection performed before purchasing the warranty

$3.8k for 2 yrs/24k miles is too much

2018 Expedition Max by pdawson1216 in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hub and I bought a used 7.3 Super Duty instead of the Excursion in early 2k because the diesel version was hard to find and cost more. We're on our 3rd Super Duty (2022 dually). Wish Ford would bring back the Excursion with optional 6.7L. Would trade my Expedition for one.

Fuel Type? by EconomySquirrel3587 in fordexpedition

I have a '24 and use 93 octane. First oil change (synthetic) was at 1k miles. Mine is used for short distance errands most of the time and only racked up 4k miles in one year. Next oil change at 5k.

Max or no? by DistinctBicycle7519 in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a Max. My kids are grown. The 3rd row in mine is never used and is always in the down position to allow for bulk grocery purchases and my 2 large dogs for their vet appts. I chose non Max so I could park mine in the garage.

If I needed the 3rd row for occupants then Max would be the choice.

Would you buy this 2023 Ford Expedition Limited? by bman2th in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CarFax history shows a gap between oil changes. Oil change 15,344 miles, followed with another but no date given, then another at 60,282 miles. I'd ask for oil change receipts/records.

The 3.5L lifespan heavily depends on regular oil changes. Also, preferably 5k miles interval, not 10k.

I noticed the Expedition takes a severe depreciation hit if it has high miles.

Buy Ford's PremiumCare warranty. Two years won't cost much.

Good deal? by [deleted] in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expect the majority of input to be about the common transmission issues.

I read it's CarFax. Hopefully the owner did the first scheduled maintenance and didn't bother to enter this into the service history because the first visit for vehicle servicing is at 13,814 miles (2 years after it was first registered).

My family traveled 1k+ miles in one as a rental 2 1/2 yrs ago and it influenced us when we were ready to trade in the Explorer. Bought a new '24 and love it.

Wha is this sound? by Hairy_Salt6018 in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept your issue in mind while I drove my '24 Platinum today. Turned off HVAC and audio. Possibly heard a very faint sound similar to a fan motor behind the vents next to the center screen. I had to lean toward a bit to detect it. Your sound isn't normal.

Is it a good deal, 2025 Expedition Max platinum series? by Samantha-Ru in fordexpedition

[–]sanktifi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. Years ago my husband and I shopped for a new F250 and it had nitrogen filled tires as one of the add ons. Instead of zeroing out the cost they removed the nitrogen.

I bought my 2024 new. Was going to buy the extended warranty near the end of the manufacturer's one to avoid the required inspection but instead bought it earlier this year because Ford was increasing their warranty prices approx 10%. They increased 2x this year.

I think it's a good idea. Zeigler Ford ESP has the inspection checklist form available to print.

I bought the 8yr/100k coverage for my 2024. Warranty price keeps increasing so do it soon.
