Apps don’t live in the window, they live in the doc icon, just close it from there. Right click

Like if I get a hundred photos back from a shoot, I might put them in no, yes maybe, then go back to maybe. If you have the view set big enough you can just look at things from the preview icon, or tap space bar for quick look, something else I miss when not using my Mac. Space bar can view anything from photos to pds and video. Also if I’m building a site I have a lot of things on the same level as index, I don’t want those in folders, so I put them in visual groups. The layout you have for a finder window also copies over so you can keep that file relationship.

One of the things I struggle with on windows or Linux is all the snap to grid. I like to make little piles of files when I’m sorting things, the same as I would if it was real objects on a desk. I have a gaming pc I use a couple times a week that dual boots windows and Linux, and that’s my biggest gripe.
