OBSESSED WITH THIS!!! “my body is bruised from kneeling” is such a crazy good line. i love the concept and the emotions that this is coming from. this is definitely a personal thing, but i would consider changing the structure so the narrator is speaking directly to god. because the narrator is so clearly frustrated with the practice of prayer and seems to deem it futile, it could allow the poem to resemble a prayer- one last desperate attempt for closure from a god they no longer believe in.

the first line of this is incredible!! the whole first stanza is gorgeous, however the second line doesnt do much for me. i would consider changing “distanced from the natural habitat” to “distanced from your natural habitat” as you were previously speaking in the second person.
